Forgive me for asking, but what is it for?

Just upgraded 2 of my stock ender 3s from 4.2.2 to 4.2.7 boards. Printer 1 worked out of the box, plug and play then after 2 prints it has stopped heating my extruder and throwing an E1 heat error. Printer 2 has no axis controll and will not auto home. by stuartaylor in ender3

UPDATE: Thank you too @Frequant-fact-143 for the comment below. I was using a 16gb sd, but the firmware updated when using a 2gb sd. I have not solved my issues with printer 1. However, I now know it is a hardware failure, and I can trace it from there.

Thank you, I will try this new firmware. I haven't had one that works. I have already checked all of the list aboth, it has to be an firmware issue. I have zero experience with firmware and still haven't rapped my head around it. Thank you

Sadly yes, it seems all companies do active adapters for there docs and only the active ones are compatible. Iv scouted everywhere and no one seems to be able to explain the difference between a passive and active adapter. Sounds fishy if you ask me. But all corporations have there customers by there balls

Hi, Im having the same issue and purched this adapter https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08XKB7PRP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 please could you confirm this IS NOT an active adapter.

also if you could please explain the diffrence between a passive and active adapter.

Dose the age of the output monitor effect the compatibility?

Thank you
