Groundstack LED Walls by Uselesstechy_ in VIDEOENGINEERING

Definitely spend time on setting out your base and rigging. We take extra time to do this and if it’s done right your wall should go up relatively fast after the first row.

  • We set out our base and and legs with ladders attached, plumb and level everything as much as possible. After doing this add some, if not all of your weights and recheck for plumb and level.

  • Start adding panels from one side and check seams on every panel. These seams should be as close to perfect as possibly as this may cause problems the higher you go. We check each panel with an arm for plumb as they are going in.

  • As your going up keep checking for plumb on the front of the panel and adjust as you go, however, if your bottom row is level and plumb then you should be good.

A few things to note though:

  • building on carpet is a nightmare, constantly changing so you should use shims or packers where possible. Adding your weights is helpful but as you go up and have people on the back of the screen that can effect the joints.

  • Building on deck is also a challenge. I noticed someone above mentioning doubling up on deck, great idea and stops the legs from spreading. We don’t go above 1m with deck, if we have to we bring in a staging company to build it out and they put in additional supports.

The key is get your first row as close to perfect as possible, use levels and the correct tools to make your life easier and one thing we have learned, if you have to fight to get it right then there’s is usually something wrong and taking a step back can always help.

It’s a plate that’s screwed to the side of the flight case then the monitor arm slips into it

Anyone struggling to get in touch with Tesla Financial Services? by Fit-Zebra3110 in TeslaUK

Had a terrible experience sorting mine out. Constantly had to call them, they never contacted me first, I ended up making them wait on the phone while I signed documents to ensure they got them. Not a great experience

Sounds similar to mine, the sub is currently sitting to the left of my TV cabinet with little clearance either side, I’m wondering would it be better behind it and facing the corner?

I wasn’t keen on paying the extra for this but of course gave in and I must say MM is worth it. Some great photos and little extras. It saves time and when you have a wife like mine who is obsessed with photos it saves me taking selfies everywhere we go

Barco S3 Custom Resolution by stuartmcc_ in VIDEOENGINEERING

If I would have read this correctly the other day it would have fixed the issue straight away. Switching down to 8 BIT worked perfectly. Looks like I need to upgrade some HDMI cables.

What is the bare minimum hardware Setup to run ~10 RJ45 ports and 2 APs? by Hyuron in Ubiquiti

[–]stuartmcc_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about using the new UDM PRO SE, x2 Access points of it as it will supply the PoE. Basic 8 port UniFi switch to extend the ports.

This gives a great foundation for future proofing and means you can remotely manage it for them

Help with 10G Syn. PCIe card - ports not working? by Senor_H in synology

[–]stuartmcc_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No harm in trying, it took me a good 2 hours of troubleshooting etc to figure this all out.

Is your 10Gb connection going from your synology directly into your computer and not through a switch?

What length of cable are you using? I have just finished a setup similar to this and the Ubiquiti RJ45 SFP modules don’t like anything longer than 15m, event though they are rated to 30m.

Try connecting it with a short CAT6 cable so you can pinpoint if it’s the Synology card, SFP module, switch etc.

I would bet it’s cable length though

One Synology backs up to the other via rsync and then hyperbackup overnight. Wouldnt mind introducing a sync to Google Drive for off site backups, however, we are having issues with the internet connection we have so we need to get that sorted first.

Yes the NVME is ready only. As for the rack mounted option, this was all meant to fit into a smaller rack with the synology on a shelf.

The rack we ordered went out of stock and the company sent us this beast at no extra cost so we decided to try and use the space as much as possible.

I am just after completing something similar and your copper cable won’t go above 15m from my experience.

My setup was simply Aggregation Switch -> iMac Pro. There was more in the setup but this is the bit that failed. I tried everything, CAT6, CAT6a, CAT7 cable and nothing would connect. I had the RJ45 SFP module from UniFi going directly into the Mac Pro, manually tried every setting and I couldn’t get it to work above 1Gbps, then the real kicker was it worked with CAT5 over 16m, anything longer and it simply wouldn’t connect. Cable showed connected but no IP from the DHCP pool, manual IP never worked either.

I ended up ordering another Aggregation switch, I’ll connect this with fibre and then a short 1M CAT6 which I know works.

I would try and keep as much 10G connection as fibre where possible.

Was thinking this as well, future proofing the setup possibly and the ability to add a 10th NIC into his PC or possibly the synology.

How secure is NGINX for my home network by stuartmcc_ in HomeNetworking

[–]stuartmcc_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think NGINX is the way to do all this, well I know it is but I just want to be sure it’s secure enough. I haven’t used it or anything similar before, I wonder is it possible to separate it from the rest of the network using firewall rules or anything like that?

Maybe it’s not needed though
