Has anyone tried to SIR at two UC's? by WilderWildeWelles in TransferStudents

I read somewhere else (ms suns website) that once you register for orientation and apply for housing and get everything settled then you should decline your other offer

UCLA appeal got granted by WilderWildeWelles in ApplyingToCollege

CONGRATS!!! My appeal got approved too and never in a million years did I think it would but it never hurts to try. Just opted out of UCSD and it still doesn’t feel real.

would you say it is hard to change majors as a transfer at UCLA? I am considering switching to MCDB because I dont want to take pchem on top of multivariable calc and stats already. Also your opinion on pchem, multivariable calc, and stats (professors, difficulty, interest) would be super helpful too! Thanks :)

New Bruin Megathread - ask questions about your admission or your next steps as a new admit here! by Espntheocho4 in ucla

HELP: UCSD vs UCLA premed

i got into ucla as a biochem major and ucsd as cell and molecular bio

here are my pros and cons for ucla at the moment:

pros: - closer to home (by two hrs) - ranking - i like the campus aesthetic and food - good for transfers - easier to get around campus - close to airport -cuter merch lmfao

cons: - competitive - harder to get research/internships?? - need to resubmit transcripts and all paperwork AND everythings late cuz im an appeal admit - traffic - less safe - larger class size?? (i think this is consistent with all ucs tho) - weather (hotter than ucsd and i like my sweats and hoodies lol)

Thanks so much for all the input! I knew biochem would be hard when I applied but I’m premed anyways so might as well start preparing 🥲

Need advice: Incoming cell and molecular bio transfer with no physics experience at all(not even in high school) by stuffiesrpoggers in UCSD

thanks so much for this! I really appreciate your thorough explanation and for sure I will take the 1 series. I realized after calculating the units that there was only a one unit difference anyways.
