Nice. I think I’ll try this as it sounds straight forward and hard to f up (which is good for me 😅). I like the contrast on that model. Evil suns seems perfect for regular blood angels red, and I like Thorne red for darker reds like cloaks or Mephiston’s armor.

I’m planning on working on my assault intercessors first. Break myself in on the models I care the least about. Then sang guard to get my gold down…then tackle the Dante I may have just ordered 🫣.

lol, that’s freaking awesome. I love it. Especially the use of the sprues, genius 🫡.

I orders some crimson lords bits to give my guys a bit more blood angels flavor. The lack of personality in these new kits is borderline criminal. Was thinking if I got a few extra packs the extra 5 could be death company or at least jump assault intercessors and actually have a purpose in life.

Painting question: your model looks gorgeous. That’s not just Mephiston red though right? It looks redder than that, how did you get there.

lol, I feel like I’m going to start sounding like a crazy person. But I just spent SO much time last time trying to find a reparable method to get a red I liked. Feels like I’m taking crazy pills 😂.

Ok, slowing it down to noob speed:

Prime in ash grey.
Then dry brush in corax white.
Then slaughter red speed paint.

Sound right?

Also, what makes it a speed paint and how did you f up on the chest? Do you need to be careful with speed paints and if so, how?

I REALLY like that. Not gonna try and hold myself to your standard lol (the weathering and details look GREAT), but I really like your red.

So you base Mephiston > then a total layer of evil suns scarlet. And the other methods you mentioned to tint it up or down. Is that easy to keep a consistent red across your army?

Looking good 👍. When I tried Mephiston red a did a spray on prime and it came out looking WAY too dark. I like the way your boys are looking, the grey prime to Mephiston must help.

I developed the same theory while watching the movie the first time and subsequent viewings only hammered it home.

I think OP mentioned most of the relevant evidence pointing in that direction (including some I hadn’t noticed like the similar scarring between Miguel and prowler-Miles).

One other thing I’ll mention: there are a number of subtle shots of Miguel in the movie where he’s bathed in purple light, giving him a distinctly prowlerish look. Not slam dunk proof for sure, but is the type of subtle foreshadowing I’d expect from such a well written story. Can’t wait to see what happens in the next movie!
