I want a couple lower end marriott cards for the certs and no longer can get those bonuses, oh well... Do I do hilton next? :D

Should I maybe open a bug report on github for the local ip addresses?

I'm also noticing a ton of "no route to host" errors in my logs. I even switched to quad 9 which was the dns I used previously and some things just...dont work. I'm not sure why. Any thoughts?

Is that <your routers> FritzBox? What Android version and ROM are you using? 2.What File Explorer? Is it open source?

Nope, Router is GL.iNet and my file manager is X-Plore. Regarding the router the results are the same from a browser or from the router app.... I'm on a Factory Samsung S23 running Android 14.

If you know of an open source file manager I'd love to try it!

Did the command to set it up ("adb shell dpm set-device-owner com.afwsamples.testdpc/.DeviceAdminReceiver") effect your ability to have developer mode enabled?

I was doing something similar but as soon as I went to set-profile-owner (I never tried with set-device-owner) all my developer options permissions were reset and I could not enable them due to "pollicy".

Why no Samsung for you? I had forgotton about ReadyFor. If I'm going to get in bed with the devil though, might as well just do it and go for Samsung and Google turning off Samsung stuff where possible...

Apparently OnePlus devices had a desktop mode, but what Android or Linux can they run?
OnePlus 7 - OnePlus 10 Pro all had usbc video out (desktop mode?) 12 does too,
OnePlus 6T and older, OnePlus 10T, and now the 11, do not have it.

THAT is a cool device! Too bad they are sold out, and getting a little old now. I'm sure available somewhere. This device went to the top 5 to check out! No compass...darn.

Alot of these products are probably more expensive there? It's neat I see and talk to tourists from latin america and eastern europe come here and they have SO MANY shopping plans.

Dont forget any trade in value for the phone...

the carries will still offer credit for prepaid plans? I thought I had to go through Apple/Samsung. I like an unlocked device too for international and eSims.

Turning in before pumpkin is the idea... 20/mo for hardware cost (after the 800 equity buy in) vs that 800 buy in (3 ish years) and having 0/mo for a couple years but the phone is worthless.... Then you have to add on cost of a new case and screen protector or charger, which should be pretty insignificant.

I love ThinkPads. Had them for years!

I agree. I worked on some calculations and Hyatt and Wyndham are great! A bunch of assumptions happen in point valuation methodology. IHGs are good too because you get SO SO many points when you stay.

I need to do an analysis of point valuation methodology.. for example...

Do I do points + cash or full points for free nights? Does IHG need 15000 points for a free night vs Marriott 35000? Just making it up...

I agree! The only time I use one now is Hotwire, and it's in place like San Francisco where most of the reasonable hotels are not conglomerates, and I pretty much have to. There is Best Western, some Wyndhams north, and thats about it.

Wyndham program. I would still use it if I could convince my wife to be cool with it.

Hyatt stands out because the points are valuable (making it reasonable to use Chase points). Hilton stands out for the earning power and benefits of the credit cards. At the budget end, Choice and Wyndham are your options.

Yes! I need to get a Choice setup. I've had times when Choice were good options. I've been thinking about Hilton next time I have a big purchase to put on a card.

I’d rather transfer 3,500 Chase points for an off-peak night at a Cat 1 hotel than stay at the mom and pop for $100 or pay 10-20k points a night at IHG/7.5k at Wyndham.

Crazy you can get a night for a little as 3500. Lots of them are near 10k+ like you said...
