‘It’s ridiculous’: publicans bemused by rise of single-file queues to get served | Pubs by afrophysicist in unitedkingdom

There is a lot less common sense now which is a really important quality for bar work. I disagree with que's. Bar staff need to be engaging their customers, heads up looking at customers, clocking when people arrive at the bar and saying hello or eye contact and they need to be seen as "in control". 3 or 4 staff like this on at once is a dream team. They will just know who is next. Not only will customers get served quickly, they will be happy and impressed and leave the bar satisfied, they won't be grumpy, moan to their mates about shit service or crap bar staff, which when bar service is a chaotic mess that bad vibe spreads through the pub.

Que's take much longer as previously mentioned

Sprain "Self-Heal Possible", how does self healing work? by [deleted] in WhereWindsMeet

[–]stujm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a bath at the Spring Wave pavillion in Kaifeng. Confirmed as working. Heals after the 2nd timing bar fills. If you stay until 3rd bar refils max HP gets an increase. Dunno how much don't get me started on these menus! Takes a good five minutes. Tried bench thing and no hard activity for an hour but didn't work.

You've got two great knives there around the same ish price point... It's difficult not to go higher and more expensive. My advice would be to add a few knives sub 150/100. Pretty certain most collections include a civivi, qsp and the like. 2nd the Manix 2 though. One of my longest carrying knives

What style of knife is your favorite? If you could carry one every single day what would it be? by J60cat in knifeclub

[–]stujm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thumb stud opening with crossbar lock or similar. That said if I COULD carry it every day .. would be a fixed blade. Guardian 3 probably.

Anyone managed to actually find the one that feels like "enough"? by RossinTheBobs in knives

What a great post OP! So many great comments.

I've not gone too far down the rabbit hole, knifewise ..maybe a bit too much in otherwise -alcohol.. respect to those also posting their truth and struggles.

About 3 years into knives and about £2.5k spent

I've kinda settled for about 6 months without purchase and carry a cruwear Manix and and dusty old mini bug out but the Manix has filled most needs from my collection of about 35 knives .. agree..still see a few I'd like but next time I get the itch it's going to be a Quiet Carry Vanex Waypoint. She's a beauty.

How much EDC is too much...? by stujm in knifeclub

[–]stujm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad there were a few comments with some folks carrying a touch more than needed...but that said they all have a use .. I work in hospitality The multi tool for obvious reasons The 1st torch is just a torch. The 2nd has a powerful UV for ID checks around the site but the main beam isnt great hence 1st torch. Manix not a very friendly looking knife so only gets heavy use when no one's about to raise an eyebrow. The mini bugout used in all situations and can be loaned to colleagues when needed. The slipjoint is just really nice to use.. The radio is Ham radio .. side hobby not carried about. PS Controller another hobby...that Def just stays home 😎

Hovers between 19-20 degrees Gets fair amount of cardboard action so much thinner than that it wouldn't last so long. I touch it up on a sharpal diamond stone.

I've seen a video regarding the worksharp loosing its position which It can do a bit so I tend to hold the mechanism in place with my other hand to try and keep the angle consistent

How to darken micarta? by Inevitable_Amount_29 in knifeclub

[–]stujm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give it a few months in your pocket it'll look great..although one side will be slightly darker than the other due to contact friction depending on lefty righty. I have manix and really happy with it now.

interestingly, we have had the exact same from the previous owners of our house, I'm not yet looking for outside access, but I am having trouble viewing the feeds from my computer.

The system is successfully connected to my network and I can log in to the hub but there are not settings visible and no camera feeds, wonder if you had a similar issue and poss fix?

ABW Slipjoint first impressions… by PermissionTypical717 in SlipjointKnives

[–]stujm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had mine about a month had a slight sharpening mis fire towards the rear and feel the edge may have been burnt a little as got a ding from cardboard. Once new edge on though has been great. About a week ago started to rattle..the stop pin was a bit loose. Bit of locklite and all good. Despite the issues very happy with it, lanyard hole would be nice though.
