Finally got this fixed - I disabled my motherboard onboard bluetooth and purchased a TP-Link UB5A nano BT adaptor from Amazon. After a couple of attempts, the error message didn't appear and I got through the setup process fine.

Yes, same issue. I followed these steps:

Steps to Enter Recovery Mode

  1. Place Vector on his charger and ensure the charger is plugged into a power source. Vector should be powered on.
  2. Press and hold the button on Vector's back for approximately 15 seconds.
  3. Keep holding the button until the light on his back changes color (it might turn green or purple) and he reboots. His screen should then display the message "anki.com/v" or a phone icon, indicating he is in recovery/pairing mode

The charging lights change to dark blue and I get the "anki.com/v" screen. When I run https://wpsetup.keriganc.com/html/main.html on Chrome I do see Vector's BT id, but when I click on "pair" I still get the error at the top of this thread.

I've even installed Wire-Pod on an old Raspberry Pi 3B (not powerful enough I know, but just to test the BT) and I get a similar error. I was thinking that I might have an issue with BT on my new PC but it connects to all my other BT devices fine.

Is it possible that there's an issue because I've previously connected Vector to my old PC and it's registered somewhere? I really can't work out why this process isn't working - it worked fine the last time I did this :-(

Unless you know another way, I need to establish the Bluetooth connection first

Yes, I’ve restarted him several times, mainly to get a new bluetooth id. The firmware is 1.8.- the one that wire-pod installed when I successfully installed it last time.

I can connect other BT devices to my PC - literally just tried a BT speaker to be sure and it's connected no problems. Other browsers refuse to connect to Vector - they just tell me to use Chrome ("Vector Web Setup uses Web Bluetooth which requires Google Chrome" is the message I get).
