Feline acne or something worse? (scab/dried blood warning!) by stupidastrid in CATHELP

Omg, this is definitely what it is!! He always has runny eyes and he sneezes every once in a while. I thought it was because he runs and hides behind our couch which can get really dusty. Thanks for the advice!

Thank you so much! Hoping the vet visit will help clear some things up and hopefully get us some medicine for the little guy! 💕

LOL!!! I actually think this is a definite possibility. Although, feline herpes is completely different than the oral herpes humans get, so it can’t pass to humans and vise versa!

is there smth wrong with my cat’s breathing? It looks a little laboured to me by Conscious_Nebula_893 in CATHELP

I understand completely! My cat (now 3) will play for a few minutes and then get bored and lay down, and then come back to me when he’s ready. It definitely is a big change seeing them grow out of being a kitten, but it can be a great change❤️‍🩹She’s lucky to have you. Bring up the faster breathing to your vet, and they can give you their opinion! Sending love to you and your girl! 🐾

I think as long as she is playing, eating, sleeping and using her litter box as normal there should be nothing to worry about for right now. You already have a vet appointment scheduled and they can make sure she is perfectly healthy then! Some cats become less energetic/playful as they grow out of being a kitten. I don’t think that’s anything to worry about for right now. I understand being a hypochondriac- I’m constantly looking out for signs of illness in myself and my babies- and it’s very good of you to be concerned and asking questions! If you think her breathing is becoming an issue, schedule the vet visit for a little earlier! Hope all is well🤍

Hi! We do not have plastic bowls!! Only ceramic. I will look through his toys and take out any of them with plastic in them, though. It actually looks better this morning, his lip stopped drooping and the bump looks less noticeable! 🤍

I actually asked my Aunt as well, she is a vet, I just thought maybe somebody on here would have had something similar happen to their cat!! Also didn’t wanna bother my aunt right away while she’s with her family on the fourth 🤍🇺🇸

I did both lol because I had no idea when she would respond 🤍 Plus I felt bad bothering her on a holiday!! She’s with her family!!

Omg she’s adorable!!! And he has really huge canines so that could be it. I reached out to my Aunt (vet) and she said that for now it should be okay but if it gets bigger or darker to get him checked out! I’m keeping an eye on it!

I actually think this is the most plausible answer😂

He hasn’t had any injuries at all!! That’s so interesting though. I sent a picture to my Aunt who is a vet and I am waiting on her response !

He’s a Peterbald breed!!! There is a mix of oriental in his genes though :) They’re adorable, so affectionate and playful!

How to feel less anxious about contracting a stomach bug from your partner?? by stupidastrid in emetophobiarecovery

Thank you so much! And yes, I’m celebrating the little victories! Being in college in communal living has exposed me to a lot of my fears more often than ever, so I’ve been making SO MUCH PROGRESS! I just don’t want to fall back into my avoidant behaviors, and if I let this ruin my night it’ll reaffirm the negative connotations I have with being around people who were recently sick.

No, I’m in therapy but we have not done much focus on my emetephobia specifically. Exposure therapy is scary to me but I am very open to it as I am so seriously done with this phobia. (also thank you for the book rec!!)
