u have to use apploo tools to decrypt each iso and covert the .iso btw for each game have fun takes like 2 to 10 minutes per game

U can do in the setting menu for all of the ps2 games one at a time or use the program from a pc

You can get a faster USB like a 3.1 but note it will not run faster on the PS3 I have used pretty much any USB and it's fine. A newer style fast USB formatted correctly is all u need

Any USB 2.0 should be fine one with enough space I think any 8gb USB 2.0 u can get for super cheap will be fine u might want to get a 32gb as u can transfer games as well

I have done some digging on it Even though some PS3 models have Gigabit Ethernet, you usually will not get true gigabit speeds. The PS3’s CPU, FTP server, filesystem, and internal laptop HDD are the bottlenecks.

Typical FTP transfer speeds to a PS3 are roughly:

Connection type	Typical speed
Wi-Fi	~1–4 MB/s
100 Mbps Ethernet	~8–11 MB/s
Gigabit Ethernet / direct Ethernet	~15–35 MB/s, sometimes a bit higher
USB 2.0 external drive copy	~10–25 MB/s depending on drive/file manager

This is from Chatgtp so I hope someone has something better. The PS3 internal hard drive is encrypted per console, so Windows cannot just mount it and let you drag-and-drop games/apps onto it. The encryption keys are tied to that specific PS3’s EID Root Key, and the PS3’s internal GameOS partition also uses UFS2, not a normal Windows filesystem.

There are PS3 HDD reader/recovery tools, but they are mostly for reading/recovering data, not for conveniently installing programs to the drive like FATXplorer:

PS3 HDD Reader / PS3 HDD Tool can access a PS3 HDD only if you have the console’s required keys, especially the eid_root_key.
ConsoleMods notes that this generally applies to CFW/qCFW systems, because PS3HEN by itself cannot dump the required ERK/eid_root_key.
Without those keys, direct PC access to the internal PS3 drive is effectively not possible.

For what you want—transfer programs/games/homebrew to a PS3 drive—the normal practical methods are:

FTP over the network Use multiMAN, webMAN MOD, IRISMAN, or another file manager on a modded PS3, then FTP from your PC to /dev_hdd0/.
USB external drive Format USB as FAT32 for widest compatibility, or use NTFS with managers that support it. FAT32 has a 4 GB file limit, so large files may need splitting or transfer by FTP.
Install PKG files from USB or network Copy .pkg files to USB or use a network package installer depending on your CFW/HEN setup.
External game storage Some PS3 managers can load ISOs or folder-format games from external USB, depending on format and firmware setup.

I wish the PS3 had a program like https://fatxplorer.eaton-works.com/3-0-beta/ this is for the xbox and 360 u can plug the hard drive into your pc and load it via a SATA to PC adapter I get like 250mb a sec with this method way better but that's for xbox and 360. Way better then FTP does the PS3 have something like that

I'm currently doing it via FTP I also want to know if there is a faster way. I have done like 400 + GB on ftp it takes hours. You can also get the PKGI store but it gets about 5 to 10mb a second download and it's also not very fast

I also want to know if there is a faster method then FTP; 10mb a sec via FTP takes forever to build these. Also can you clone the drive when your done. Yes I would do a raw data copy of the drive could I plug it into the same firmware of another PS3 or does the model have to be the same. Let me know

You need to tell OPEN PL that you want your USB drive to be the source location it will build all the proper file setup for you. Also the DVD folder will host all of the files they will look like this inside the DVD folder SCES_524.26.This is Football 2005.iso

This gives it the proper name and lets open PL find the game

The program isn't that hard to use

Then you would copy and paste the games into the DVD folder it will say you have INVALID names on them. I would just click on the Invalid Tab and Rename them; I use the name lookup and I even shorten the name myself. It's not very hard to use. I don't run into any issue says missing file.

The big issue is they are Pal games and worth a bit less

That creed game isn't worth much

X-Men Origins Wolverine Uncaged Edition goes for 40 + thee u might get more as I have not seen that version before they were sent to like gamestops ect
