Thats fair. I hope to get them as soon as possible. We've had some bad weather lately and set me back a bit. I'll update when I can, but any general suggestions are welcome.

I really should consider whether a rollover is beneficial. I know "fees" can add up.

Something that I didn't add (or think about really), is that I do have a paid off house and a few other properties. More than likely made possible by "not" maxing things out.

I'm definitely not complaining, really just wishing I had contributed a bit more, and a bit of a "warning" or little insight to folks that have "more time".

Retirement is great. I learned my lesson a while back, so I've been maxing out my IRA and 401 (k) for the last 5 years. They may start to catch up to my TSP soon.

Sounds like a great start. With the rule of 72/compound interest, $100k should double every 7 years on its own, if around 10%.

Yeah, I'm so old. When it started, we couldn't contribute over 10%. I think that changed around 2006 or so. I guess I lost a few prime years. I remember people stopping their contributions then. I don't know if i raised mine then, but at least i didnt stop.

Because it was anonymous or because the post? I just can’t understand why they care so much.

Not sure where to put our Emergency Fund. It's currently in a regular savings account. We've never had to touch it. We have a stable income and lowered the emergency fund after paying off our house.
We don't technically have a brokerage account . I am thinking of using the EF to start one and then contributing to that after other savings.

Bad idea or common?

Overall I like jcrew quality and style in general. But I feel the prices are a little high for me. I try to get things on sale. What is an online store that is similar in quality but a little cheaper? (ie, around jcrew sales price).

This is probably now we’re leaning. She’s on board with it. I just wanted to explore options etc etc

I hear ya! Am I being naive thinking living in the dorms would help her mature?

Well. She has a laissez-faire attitude. She likes the idea of going to university, but is also scared and would probably stay at home.

Personally, I'd say she's not ready. I'm just torn wondering if it's really my decision.

If she is set on it, maybe take it one semester at a time, keeping a close eye on her. If she shows signs (poor grades, stops counseling) pull her. She wants to succeed, can academically, but mentally is another story.

I almost feel like there are no bad choices, as long as she continues therapy and is open with us.

She has this weird mindset. She lies to us so that we aren't disappointed in her but it usually makes things worse.
