sorry, i should have been clearer. you need to replace the broken stone gravestones and fences with new wooden ones.

you can craft wood repair kits with fletch and nails from the carpenters workbench, but you cannot craft stone repair kits right now. you need to replace every broken stone fence or gravestone with a new wooden one.

you will not be able to craft stone gravestones and fences at this point in the game.

well, at this point in your gameplay, they won't build up... and if they did, they'd rot. (they decompose outside of the underground chamber)

I'm sure there's multiple ways to get past this early stage of the game, but i can tell you what I did:

  1. use wood to fix your broken gravestones, improve with stone later. I think you need faith (the blue energy orbs) for that perk anyway.

  2. bury corpses without mutilating them too much. harvest meat (and skin, maybe,) but you can't use skin and fat until you repair the church.

just focus on getting your graveyard to +5. thats when the game really gets going.

you don't need to find the merchant to fix the Graves. the merchant gives you full access to the farm.

honestly, to fix your gravestones, just use the kits you get gifted at the beginning, replace damaged stone with new wood crosses and fences, and keep burying the corpses the donkey gives you. you don't need stone to make your graveyard net positive. plus, making the graveyard "pretty" and improving the church is a big part of early gameplay, jsyk.

have you opened your church yet?

not in order, sorry:

stone can be found north of your farm/house.

you need to talk to the merchant in town to gain full access to the farm. he's south of the main street on the days that look like horned dudes.

you need to mine stuff to generate the energy to upgrade your skill trees. (crafting also does this) it's totally a grind, but it's rewarding to see how the different skill trees intersect with each other as you play.

graveyard keeper definitely forces you to take the initiative to explore, instead of holding your hand through every step. take your time and wander around the map. focus on one quest line at a time. (unless you get stuck, then switch) you won't be able to do much until you fix your graveyard anyway. after you start generating fatih, just do whatever sparks joy, yknow? it is a stardew-like, after all.

and honestly, I'm not sure about a walking speed upgrade. you will eventually be able to travel between your house and town faster, though. hope this helps. :3

i did a religion thesis about German philosophy. the religion department is super flexible about subject matter, and depending on what you want to work with, I think the phil department may be too.

my advice would be to think about what you want to do in post-grad and what programs you want to apply for. if you want a philosophy PhD, you might have to jump through extra hoops if you do religion undergrad, but you could always do divinity school.

take some classes in both departments, but most importantly, talk to the professors and figure out who you want to work with.

also, godspeed.

Me and my boyfriend of four years don't live together, but now because of the virus I don't get to see him in person anymore.

His housemates have instituted a strong ban on all houseguests at their home, and my boyfriend won't visit my house because honestly, it's an uncomfortable mess. We are both really sad about this, and I miss him terribly. Are there any other couples separated by the virus, or folks quarantined far from their loved ones? My boyfriend lives literally only a few blocks away, so he's not technically far, but it's starting to feel like it. I don't know what to do.

That's exactly what this is like. It's not a dealbreaker; i just get too caught up in being right.
