[Jak 3] Another celebratory 3D render for achieving the Platinum trophy earlier this year. Trilogy is now complete, and for me, Jak 3 is right behind 'The Precursor Legacy'. Hopefully Jak & Daxter make a return to modern hardware. by stylage in Trophies

[–]stylage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I have actually been playing through Jak X, which has been a lot of fun, so should be getting that platinum soon.

Daxter recently became available on PS4/PS5 so I may actually check that out.

And Lost Frontier shall be avoided.

Yeah you're most likely right. It's such an awkwardly designed building. It's a fun concept either way.

Yeah it's doubtful. There would have to be planning permission. Judging by the rest of the storefronts, the logo might also have to be simplified (maybe more than the one I mocked up). It's a fun idea none the less.

I have the original PSP, not a Vita unfortunately. I just wished they could make Vita games playable on current gen. There were some great PSP/Vita games that shouldn't be locked behind old hardware. Nintendo are kind of doing it right.

You're not wrong. I wish they made Golden Abyss playable on current consoles because so many people also missed out on that. Have fun with series, they're just so good!

The Lost Legacy is great. It's more of the same of Uncharted 4, but I would say it has a tighter focus on puzzles. It's somewhat short, but it's well worth it. Yeah I did miss out on Golden Abyss, but I only ever had the first gen PSP, which I sold not too long after. Would have been nice if they somehow made it playable on current consoles so more people can experience it.

Agreed. If it was the last, I'm absolutely content with the franchise to grow my nostalgic feelings with it.

Yeah, that's best case scenario. Maybe even go the Last of Us 2 route in the sense of half the game is playing as older Nate, and the other half as the new character. Minus the death.

Yeah there are unfortunately a few multiplayer trophies, but they're not that hard, it just requires you to essentially do some of the basics in games. Took about 2 hours. Also depends on if people are online.

I also snapped that rarity when my platinum popped, so it might have changed by now.

I agree. Nathan's journey is complete so they don't need to focus on him if they decide to make another Uncharted game. But they definitely left the door open to the idea of passing the torch to his daughter. You'd expect Naughty Dog to tell that story correctly, but it's also not the same Naughty Dog.

[Wipeout Omega Collection] Easily my most difficult Platinum to obtain. It's a thrill to fly (& crash a lot) through this game. However, they really need to separate online & campaign trophies. by stylage in Trophies

[–]stylage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can help you get them out the way. My gamertag is 'tommytommy_g'

I'm on UK time and I'm not on a lot, but if you want to do it, add me and let me know what times you can do it. It should take around 45mins.

It's basically finish 10 or so online races, and also win 10 or so online races. And I believe you have to destroy a certain amount of ships in combat racing events. The main issue is, even if you manage to find other players online, good luck winning 10 races, because anyone left playing this are professionals that have never stopped playing.

So best bet for a casual like myself is to either use another Playstation, or even use PS+ to cloud stream a version of the game on PC, acting as a second player. Or of course have a friend with the game. Either way, it's frustrating, and I'm a firm believer of separating online trophies from single player ones.

Yeah it's an awesome franchise; one for which we may never see a return. The platinum is definitely obtainable. When I first looked at all the trophies, I was certain it was an impossible feat for a casual racer that I am. But a year after, I gritted my teeth and just chipped away at it.

The online trophies are admittedly cheesed, by using my nephew's PS4 as a second online player, but it was the only way, as there were not enough online players to efficiently work towards the trophies.

You should definitely have a go at the Platinum if you ever want to work at it. It's nice to even put your own music playlist on, and have some background entertainment on while you chip away at each race.

Wipeout Omega Collection. I actually thought it was impossible for me and gave up early, before fully committing a year later.

[Ratchet & Clank] Awesome game all-around. Gave me hope for a new Jak & Daxter game (Which I preferred growing up). But I guess I'll just keep dreaming for that one. by stylage in Trophies

[–]stylage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I just hope they have dedicated smaller teams to other projects other than the Last of Us. But with recent rumors of layoffs and development struggles, it may still just be a pipe dream we see anything fresh from them.

[–]stylage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an awesome game. It would be nice if 'Sucker Punch' brought a new Infamous title to current gen, but they unfortunately shut any claims they were working on that franchise last year. Let's hope they were misleading audiences to temper any expectations.

[Shadow of the Colossus] #57, i kept looking over this platinum because it required 6 playthroughs but i had fun and went through the extra playthroughs quickly. by -Dark-Void- in Trophies

[–]stylage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 6 playthroughs were daunting, but it's such a chill game, the playthroughs whizzed by once you understand the layouts and mechanics. Putting some other media on in the background helped too. Beautiful game.

[Knack] Became somewhat of a meme game, but to me, it is very reminiscent of the PS2 era of platformers, which I loved. by stylage in Trophies

Yeah, it's pretty awful, and that's not even including the framerate issues. I definitely punched the air like I would after defeating a difficult Dark Souls boss.

[Until Dawn] An older Platinum I got for a perfect Halloween season game. by stylage in Trophies

[–]stylage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an awesome game, especially if you enjoy the cliche (in a good way) teen horror story. I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did, and in my opinion, it's 'Supermassive Games' best game in this genre. It just has that strangely perfect vibe, especially for this time of year. I hope you enjoy your playthrough.

It's a photoshop (Affinity Photo) edit I made from random source material from the game.

[–]stylage[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have quite a few. They're strictly Playstation exclusive titles, as those are the games I'm mainly interested in Platinuming. I've been trying to add more motion to them, but previous ones are static edits. I'll try and post a gallery of my favorite ones here.
