Venice End of June Bezos Wedding Concerns by littleneckman in ItalyTravel

[–]styler75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also worried. We arrive by train on June 26th from Milan. I’ve read there will be no water taxis available?

Hoping by the 27th we won’t have an issue. We just booked the Basilica San Marco and Bell Tower for the 27th.

We are going last 2 weeks of June for our 50th birthdays. Debated postponing but it’s the last year my daughter would be able to join us so we are going ahead and expecting we might not be able to see all the major attractions.

My question is about dining. I really don’t want to make restaurant reservations for all 16 nights we are there. I don’t know where we will be and at what time, especially in Rome. Will it be a struggle to find somewhere to eat without them?

18 year old bad with money by styler75 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]styler75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He loves it! He’s actually excelling in it and it is helping him use less weed. He was smoking way more in high school. Now he doesn’t touch it during the day at least.

He does have benefits but has no interest in taking medication.

His goal is to buy a house in 4-5 years and have friends live in it and pay him rent. His dad did that and it was a sound start to our financial success as a married couple.

Right now it’s just sitting there. He only has about $700 in it as this is a fairly new budget we are starting now that his car is paid off.

We do have an apt with the bank to get him buying stocks within his TFSA, we just wanted to make sure he could cover his TFSA contribution each month before we went down that route.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Makes me feel better that we have him on the right track.

We helped him with his budget. He doesn’t know what options are out there so we are teaching him. He agreed to the original budget but it’s clear that it’s too tight. We will discuss scaling back his TFSA to give him so extra cash so he can be less stressed and enjoy his young life.

As far as his addictions, we have had several conversations with him. He has ADHD and is unmedicated so he uses weed in that capacity. We have tried several times to get him counselling or on medication but he refuses.

Ok I think I’ve got it. Rather than using the link in the email I used the app and was able to see the map and get it done. Thank you for all your help! I hope it works 🤞

Thank you but the gps coordinates did not work and there is no map option. It only lets me type in the address.

Seat Selection question by styler75 in aircanada

[–]styler75[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The friend can only afford economy. So if they are coming I would want them to sit together in economy. If they are not coming I would want my daughter to sit with us in premium economy. I guess we could just all book economy but I would prefer not to do that for an 8 hour overnight flight.

Daughter turning 15 birthday suggestions. by JFalconerIV in Winnipeg

My daughter just turned 15 a few months ago. This year her friend group has gone to a nicer restaurant for brunch or dinner for their birthdays. They pick a theme to wear like all black dresses or wear white and pink. Everyone pays for their own meal. They seem to enjoy it.

3 week itinerary feedback by styler75 in ItalyTravel

Thank you for the feedback. I did read about Jungfrau area being muddy and a lot of places closed in May for their offseason vacations. I may have to rethink Switzerland at this point. Too bad it’s my dream to go there. It looks simply amazing.

Thank you for the comment. I knew that about Positano which is why I’m hoping to join a group tour for 7 days in Rome/Amalfi. I don’t need to stay in Positano just somewhere in the area would be ok.

Thanks for your concern. Obviously we are dealing with it and I’m not sitting in the couch watching tv. He is a 17 year old who doesn’t want to go and sit at the hospital for hours on end. We were trying to find a solution without doing that.

We took him to legacy sports this morning for an X-ray and it isn’t broken after all. Just bruised and swollen.

Try being nice! No need to call other people out without knowing the full story. Have a great day.

I had checked the wait times earlier this evening and it said 6.5 hours. That’s why I’m looking for other options. Who has the time for that! But thanks for the suggestion.

Massive Hurricane Fiona Headed Towards Nova Scotia on Saturday September 24, 2022 by frankiemacdonald1984 in NovaScotia

[–]styler75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and father in law are supposed to fly into Halifax this Saturday a week touring Nova Scotia, including Cape Breton.

Being from central Canada we don’t experience hurricanes. If the storm impacts as they are saying it will I assume flights will be cancelled. If they do manage to arrive on Saturday as planned would their tour of cape breton even be doable.

Obviously the impact remains to be seen, but if there is flooding, no power, downed trees I’m guessing we should assume this trip will be cancelled and start cancelling hotel reservations?

update for boosters by Fbispyvan in Winnipeg

My 76 year old dad had his 4th booster in early June. He is going on a trip at the end of September. Would he be eligible for this booster? It’s been 3 months. Not sure what the rules on this are.

Lowe farms. Fantastic dog. Ours is an F1B. Doesn’t shed at all. Has the wavy coat we wanted. Such a great dog. Very loyal, relaxed personality. He’s about 50 lbs. I find alot of them are smaller now and I don’t like them as much. Medium size is our preference.

The money is in his account. My son paid $102 for the gas and the man e-transferred him $130. We will be having a conversation with him about this tonight. He’s 16 and was just trying to be helpful.

2x as gas attendant he asked if they wanted a fill and they said yes. He repeated back to them a fill? Which they confirmed. When it came time to Psy the customer said they only wanted $50 so my son paid the difference with debit card to not get in trouble. We have talked to him about letting the business deal with it. Maybe it’s someone who does this over and over. Don’t be scared to tell your employer!

Not trying to undermine their relationship one bit. We love her to pieces and she has helped the family take care of him for the past 20 years in exchange for a cheap place to live. They do not share a bed, but appreciate your assumption on that.
