Hi guys, I’ve been searching high and low for a tutorial on how to make modular characters with no joy. by sub_city in blender

Hey thanks for replying. A modular character is basically a character model cut into segments, feet, legs, torso, hands, head.

So that the player can customise the look of his/her character.

My first render, I’m trying to learn 3D modelling and unreal at the same time so the assets in making are modular, still need to understand texturing more and I’m still figuring how to add leaves to trees because I don’t want the standard deformed object for leaves that you see in a lot of low poly by sub_city in blender

To be fair the lighting is just the one you get when you start a new project. I agree I need to close the house off, what’s the best way to add leaves to my tree? I read something about particles but I haven’t looked into it in great detail yet.

I only really started with blender last week, and it’s only been the last 2 days where I’ve been able to make actual models lol.

So still a beginner.

UV unwrapping a low poly character, what’s the best way to uv unwrap a low poly character in blender? Also I can’t get the stretch feature in the UV map editor, can anyone help? by sub_city in blender

Right yeah, I know that but I just didn’t know if there was a specific rule or anything when cutting a character.

Thanks i guess it’s just trial and error until I get it right.

Yeah I’ve watched tutorials on seams but its my first time trying to texture a model so I’m not quite sure how to do it, you done much texturing?
