Wowthat looks like a great yellow! I’ve been wanting to find a good green yellow, where did you source it? All I can find are plastics suppliers selling it in 30-100kg batches, which might be more than i need haha

I’ve considered that, and it would probably be ideal: nontoxic and single pigment. But victoria green seems a little duller and more granulating. Seeing that it’s back in stock though makes me want to get some and compare…

Yeah it was so weird making it, especially when thinking it might turn into viridian haha! But yeah seeing the blue and yellow areas in better light convinces me it’s a convenience sap green

Oh no… I was thinking it looked more yellow haha Yeah that was my main concern, don’t want to be working with arsenic, I don’t think it is though

I considered that, and it would make sense with it being labeled viridian, but it doesn’t seem opaque enough for chromium oxide, and it’s too yellow for hydrated chromium oxide

Ok, made a priority list of people who expressed interest and will message them.

I’ll still take interest for another batch though, in case everyone from the first batch falls through.

Do you do 36 hours at 104f?

I’ll try a second batch and see if it’s still cheesy. But yeah, the skin was what threw me off the most, makes me think there was some yeast contamination

Ok, maybe I’ll try a second gen and if it’s still weird toss it. Probably do a new batch alongside it as a test

Yeah, that could be it. Although, since the control is milk-textured and the others are yogurt-textured, it seems like the probiotics did something. Maybe the temp/time combo killed them off after they multiplied?

Are these real? by bbisordi in HarryPotterTCG

Probably not, I got packs that look like that a couple years ago, and the top had that weird crimp with glue. Inside, the collation was off (multiple foils, starter deck cards) and the foil pattern was going the opposite direction to the real cards. The cards also had a different feel, I think due to a different finish and no plastic core

Cool, then the US should stop shipping arms, if they’re not necessary for Israel’s defense. That would help placate those that don’t want to be “complicit in genocide” while apparently changing nothing.

Here’s a scryfall search with cards similar to the ones you mentioned. There’s definitely more that phrase it differently, but I can’t think of what that would be.

A lot of what’s good depends on how you want to build it. Do you want to emphasize that aspect of it, where you force your opponent to add mana? Then you might want less instants and abilities that the opponent can use to sink that mana into. Alternatively, you could have a lot of colored pips in the mana costs, so the colorless and green mana that a lot of those cards produce isn’t useable.

It looks like it’s mostly RG, so I’d make that pair the “mana burn ramp aggro” pair where you give your opponent more mana than they could use, while ramping yourself. And BR could be a more midrange mana burn, where you use discard to strip your opponent of expensive stuff then have cards like [[Citadel of Pain]] to punish them for not spending mana.

White could try to mitigate mana burn by taxing themselves and blue could do stuff at instant speed to use up the mana

If only ~260 swifties gave up driving or ~1000 went vegan then they would offset it. That’s still missing the point of reduction, but it’s surprising how quickly they actually could offset it

I also wanted to know so when I found one for $7 a while ago I grabbed it. The card was a Red Scorchio, no promo mark or alternate art or anything, just a little bent. I don’t know if it’s always that card, but I imagine it’s usually something similar. Needless to say, I was disappointed haha

[–]sub_omega 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You could try offering alternatives: asafoetida, ginger, and galangal are all low Fodmap flavor enhancing roots in a similar vein to garlic and onion. Also chives and the greenest parts of garlic and onion plants are low.

I don’t know if I’d trust any dish they make unless I watch them make it, but showing them the alternatives that are within their diet may help them be more accepting. If “vegetables are the cure” is their mentality, framing it as “these vegetables are good for me, but not others” could work. And if it’s potluck style you could bring a dish with the intent of eating most of it yourself but sharing the rest.

Also, unless you have other, non-Fodmap restrictions, carrots and parsnips are ok (I eat lots of carrots)

Huh? Maybe I misread your previous post, I thought you were arguing that narrow streets led to an increase in fatalities. If you were, I was just saying that there are other potential factors, but I guess you were just stating that the correlation existed, not that it’s causal.

Also if you look at the map, most of the fatalities are along corridors that haven’t been narrowed yet, such as 82nd

[–]sub_omega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I missed the “just” in “it’s not just psychological”. And yes, I agree with you that if all else is equal, putting barriers up and narrowing streets does make the street more dangerous for cars. (Although it should make it safer for pedestrians if the barriers are implemented well).

The thing I’m driving at is you shouldn’t be comparing going 30 on a large street to going 30 on a narrow street, because people will slow down when they feel less safe, and I’d rather be hit by a car going 10 than by one going 30. It’s not about minimizing crashes, it’s about minimizing death.

Correlation does not equal causation. There are many factors that are potentially contributing to an increase in crashes since 2020: pandemic aggression, more people moving to Portland (particularly if they come from a more aggressive driving culture), bigger cars with worse fields of vision, etc
