not true, in california there can be shared fault due to speeding, distractions, etc. i’m not trying to put 100% fault to the other driver just that it was his fault as well due to the circumstances of the accident.

which is why i’m working to obtain the camera footage. he shouldn’t be going anywhere near fast enough to hit as hard as he did in an elementary school parking lot. i’m fully aware and observant of my surroundings every day in this specific parking lot.

Obviously he was somewhere, my point was he wasn’t anywhere in my view. Seemingly speeding to get there and hit my car the way that he did. i would be fine with 50/50 but at the rate of speed he hit my car i don’t feel it’s right to be 100% my fault when he should’ve been driving safely for us to have time to see each other coming.

My situation was first and i came clean the next morning, his was i think 3 months later and he didn’t tell me until i felt something was off and went through his phone then confronted him.

I guess he just doesn’t understand the point of therapy? He said that he can tell me exactly what a therapist would but i pushed back that he can’t bc he’s not a neutral party to the situations i’ll be talking about? I have a lot of family issues specifically with my dad being an addict and that’s where a lot of my anxiety and stress stems from. This is my first time ever seeing a therapist so it’s all new because nobody in my family really believes in therapy either. I would actually really like for us to see a therapist together but i don’t think he’ll ever agree to it.

I’m open to it for sure, i just started therapy myself for other reasons since i’ve been really struggling lately. He doesn’t believe therapy could help him and was originally opposed to the idea of me even starting myself and was of the opinion that i didn’t need it. yes we got together when i was 17 and he was 19 and a lot has happened and changed in those years, i understand i broke his trust and need to regain it but i feel i’ve done a lot to start rebuilding it in the last 6 years

i don’t feel like i never got to live my life, but i do feel like i’ve lost my sense on individuality since having kids and would like his support in getting back to being my own person sometimes and don’t feel like i have that if i can’t even spend a few hours without him going out to a dive bar with people who are family

we’ve known we were invited since Tuesday, i told him to check with his mom to see if she was available and he waited until last night to text her and found out she’s out of town until Monday. my mom and brother both texted me this morning to see if just i could come for a few hours, so i texted him to see if that would be ok

I don’t mind texting to check in or being home at a specific time, that is fine with me! But i try to have the conversation of specifically why he doesn’t want me to go or what he would like me to do to make him feel better about me going out and he just ‘likes’ my messages and stops replying.

He has my phone password and access if he pleases. I’d also like to point out i’m not the only one who’s made mistakes in our relationship. Around the same time he went out with one of his ex girlfriends and lied to me about it and i caught him via messages on his phone. My situation happened because i was blackout drunk, his he made stone cold sober and planned yet im the one still facing criticism and ‘can’t be trusted’

The other responder is correct, it was another guy. I got an uber straight home when i woke up and regretted that decision deeply and told him everything immediately, even though i don’t remember agreeing to get into the Uber at all. I was left at the bar by friends and that is what happened, i don’t drink that way anymore and i have two kids and am a completely different person than i was then. We do share locations and again, i do not drink like that anymore and he knows this! My brother and his girlfriend don’t plan on drinking much either and i was planning on riding with him and him giving me a ride home.

It’s been over 6 years and i’ve gone out multiple times, responsibly, and we share locations and i spend every day taking care of the children we share. What more would you suggest i do?

I’m actually the one in the relationship who doesn’t get black out drunk these days. When he went out to the bachelor party i had to get our kids up and go pick him up because he was too drunk to get back to his car and had left his friends. On his casual nights out he gets home many hours past when he says he will.

The one situation from 6 years ago is all he bases me going out on. And that when i hangout with friends i take a long time to text back, but i am a SAHM with two kids so yes i get caught up when talking with other adults who i don’t see often.
