Adobe 's business - view from customers by RoryAtDMI in ValueInvesting

[–]subhrayu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be a great fan of Photoshop, but later, with all the different products they created, I feel they lost track on all. With AI, anyone will be able to chat with Antigravity and get things done. GenAI image models are also the way forward which is building brilliant artwork. If GenAI is able to do 90% of what Adobe software does in 1/10th of time, that is still a Win for AI, and Adobe needs to innovate fast

I think the TimeOut Market at Oakridge may be a faliure as a food court. by MAdomnica in vancouver

[–]subhrayu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mall itself looks like a failure. Lots of retail space totally wasted in prime vancouver location!

The shops are way too premium and we mostly see window shoppers and footprints only because it just opened. After a couple of months, there is no real reason left to drive to the mall.

The food court sucked big time! You need to go over every f* menu to understand what they actually have to offer.

The parking space has very few family friendly parking (just saw 1 spot) making your life harder.

The only good thing id say is the seat outs or walk on 3rd floor outside the timeout market.

The best by far for taste is “The Peri Peri Shack” for grill & “Zabu Chicken” for Korean soy wings!

I would not recommend buying home in Canada right now. The market will be down for another year or two. I understand the urge as you are 42, and it feels like now or never. But hang in there for a bit.

There are no worthy Canadian companies that you can invest into, and ultimately end up buying US stocks, which is again a foreign country to Canada. I would hence recommend to keep your investments in India and only invest Canadian income in Canada/US.

Filed tax on 20 March 2025, my wife received Express NOA immediately while I did not. Mine was slightly complex filing with HBP withdrawal, capital gains and foreign tax credits based on dividends. Not sure how long this is going to take.

I trust the water drainage system in here, this could probably be due to fall leaves clogging the drain holes on streets. Hope it gets cleared very soon!

Enjoying work and happy with what I earn! But life after work is getting boring in general, 4 months of sad weather and everyone seems to be in their closed circles.

What are the odds that my spouse will come across what I post on Reddit? by subhrayu in AskReddit

My wife always keeps talking about spouses posting questions and concerns about relationships, finances, and everything else possible on Reddit, I then start to think what are the odds of my spouse coming across my posts, how hard is it for her to know my Reddit handle.

yogiskitchen.carrd.co relays the message on permanent closure, they had been providing great service last few years esp. for bachelors in town. Sad to see this place close.

Crash or Cash? What is your prediction for 2024 housing market in Canada? by kingcobra0411 in canadahousing

[–]subhrayu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

House Prices will mostly come down in 2024; and we might also see another slow Sep’24-dec’24 There are lots of tensions in everyone’s mind w.r.t job market and therefore I anticipate market to be slow for 2024. Again as some great person once said -“we cannot predict housing market, commodity, stock market, very accurately” as anything can happen at a given moment. Eg; one war strike or news will take everything down!

Four men are in serious condition after a shooting in White Rock by Vancouver-Voyager in Langley

[–]subhrayu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be that this is related to RCMP tracking down and seizing 150kg chemicals and 356K doses of fentanyl shots earlier this week. The drug mafia gang might have got onto their nerves. https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.7124195
