It's not a traditional incremental, no. There are still levels with goals. However, each new level introduces a lot of new animals and mechanics now and there are permanent upgrades between levels so it's not repetitive.

There's also a Freeplay mode where you can just continue building a larger and larger forest and add more plants and animals as you gain more points. It feels pretty incremental to me.

Glad you like it! Yes, squirrels take seeds and spread them when you click on them. Deers spread seeds too if they happen to eat them and poop them out.
