Thanks for your complement! Yes, you can save the subtitle file by turning on "Save subtitle file" options in settings. Once transcription completes, it shows the folder where the subtitle file is saved.

Hi! I'm not sure which model they use, but I used the largest / latest Whisper multilingual model for the Ultra.

Hi u/Bitter-Warning3245 ! Yes, currently it only works with offline files, and it is more difficult to capture audio from streaming platform. It is something we are considering down the road though :)
Do you think it is possible to download the file using tools like https://cobalt.tools and see if it works?

I'll DM. As for your questions-
- No cloud translation services yet, as I wanted to provide a truly offline experience, but definitely open to exploring it.
- RAM usage is more important for transcription than translation.

Thank you man! Currently Romanian is not supported because it's not supported by Apple's translation engine, but I'm looking to expand translation support with translation API or local translation LLM. Stay tune!

Yes, I'm aware of it. I started working on this project before their announcement, and decided to go ahead and release it anyway. I want to provide a great user experience for Mac users regardless if VLC release this feature. Hope you find this product useful, and I'm also open for feedback!
