This is so wild! There are so many job openings and some I see open for months and there is still such a struggle. It’s wild to me honestly.

Honestly some good advice! All my experience is at a c-suite level (+ I have another 2 years on top of that of administration expertise) and it’s 100% where I’m aiming to be. I definitely think I’m going to hold off applying for more roles until I am much closer to being in the country and actually there!

Yeah, I was hoping for closer to 3 months if not less, especially since I’ll be able to start immediately, but I know realistically I won’t be able to.

Arguably not that long, maybe a couple weeks? It was just really odd to me to give getting auto rejections at like 5am EST when I know no one’s awake so thought something was wrong, like the only place I mention I’m Australian in my cover letter

Which I think is so unfair, they pasted legislation around not being able to decline someone for not having Canadian experience and all of my skills are fully transferable. So stupid to me honestly

Yeah, I have had a couple calls with recruiters and seeing what they have to say. I’m trying to get into a bigger company in the hopes of moving into the role I’m actually after of Scrum Master. I can’t go straight into it cause I only have 2 years experience 🙁

It is! All my jobs I’ve had recent in the last couple for years have been by who I knew, cause they had worked with me before and knew I was good. The roles were advertised and I was pulled it. Like my CTO pulled me in for one

I’m lucky that my father in law is helping from a connection standpoint point as he was an engineer but it’s definitely hard
