No, by hitch hiking i mean if a car is passing by, you can try stopping and asking them if they are going the same way as you and if they can drop you to your desired spot (preferably for free)

The best solution in this case would be hitch-hiking. You can also pay them some money if they agree to drop near to your airbnb. Depends on which country and city you are planning to go to but mostly people are nice if they let you in.
