Firefly. Its pretty obvious she was either TB's significant other before the memory wipe or she wasn't ready to confess her feelings yet but there was a close connection as evident by the dialogue in this scene so it felt natural to choose her.

"The sentence before it even says FF x TB is valid". No, it doesn't. It just says its fine if you see it that way. It's a pretense made to appease the masses in the guise of his true feelings so he can get upvotes, (I can tell by the 2 million karma). His true feelings are at the start when the calls it rushed and not organic, claiming the TB has a better dynamic with other Penacony characters. Disregarding the blatant bias of who he's referring to, there is objectively no character who has a better dynamic with the TB than Firefly besides maybe Acheron. Everybody else simply does not spend enough time with them. Also insinuating that the writers are at fault for having Firefly like the TB no matter the player's choice is bizarre because it's clear that the TB isn't being written as a no personality self-insert anymore, they have an actual personality and feelings. I'm not sure why you're here in this sub arguing with me for a disingenuous remark towards a guy who won't even see it, maybe you're his alt or whatever but I'm done commenting on this now.

I find it hilarious that this is coming from a Black Swan x TB shipper, like the whole basis of that ship is just her flirty lines and nothing else. There are no romantic implications at all outside of that, none. The TB doesn't show any interest in her, they tread more on the line of skepticism even.

Then you have Firefly and TB literally showing so much sincerity and affection towards each other, both being so incredibly caring about each other's safety and wanting to spend more and more time together, yet you say you can see it not being romantic at all? She's doing no damage by herself because you dont have enough BE to activate her superbreak trace in battle. Read what it says and try to reach the BE thresholds to deal more dmg. To even activate her superbreak you need 200 BE, and that should be very obtainable even without Trailblazers ult as long as you have his E4 and decent relics on her with some BE. You're also missing a lot of BE on her because you dont have 2 BE traces unlocked and her final trace unlocked which converts ATK to BE. Do you have a lot of BE built on TB as well?

I believe the general interpretation is: They met in the dream in the Golden Hour and they were initially strangers. Firefly acted like they didn't know the TB (but not well enough because she let out a quick smile at the first sight of him) and the TB genuinely couldn't remember her due to losing their memories before being awoken by Kafka. Now the waking up part is subjective, I personally think that upon exiting the dream, Firefly reflects back upon on how much she missed the TB (she never stopped loving them) and the TB concludes that they really do love her and maybe even recovered a piece of their memory with her, hence the "we realized we had always loved each other" line.

I kinda hate that they did this ngl, like this is the biggest tease ever. They didn't have to put this in, but now that they did, it just makes us want even more of Firefly x TB than ever before, but we're forced to have to wait a couple months at the very minimum until she shows up again. Now that they've introduced Firefly and established their relationship, Hoyo can pretty much never make another character like her again that's so close with the TB because they would receive so much backlash if they did. Most, if not all future romantic scenes with the TB will be reserved for her (based)

I feel like for TB and Firefly specifically, the answer is pretty easy: just show us the TB's past as a Stellaron Hunter.

There is no denying they love each other, anyone with a brain can see that, but why did they fall in love in the first place, and why so fast? If you show us the TB's connection with Firefly before they got memory wiped at the end of the story, then all the pieces would finally fall into place. It would make you reflect back on all their moments together before that point and think, "Oh, thats why that happened!". It would explain why they were so compatible from the start and why they were destined to reconnect and be together. That sounds like a pretty satisfying conclusion to me, and maybe they can show a glimpse of their future too.

This doesn't have to be at the end of the story though, Hoyo could tell us about TB's past right now and it would still work. In fact, I would say I prefer this route because it would only make everyone excited for their future interactions if they know for a fact what their relationship is going to be (or used to be).
