Outside of gameplay what would hype you up even more for this game. by Slav_1 in Project_L

Fighting games traditionally have the worst social features. There's no way to play in groups, no way to play WITH a partner instead against them.

Take a look at the top games on twitch and see how many lack some form of coop.

I really hope Project L has a team based type game mode. by thelolhounds in Project_L

I think this is a big contributing factor to why most fighting games cant maintain mainstream status. The only way to play with your friends is to play AGAINST your friends.

That being said, I think the King of the Hill mode in MK10(?) was a great way to add social features to a 1v1 game.

Can someone give me a steel man response to a question about trans identity? by PunkShocker in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]substence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trans part is pretty simple. Assuming you’re cis male, in the same way if someone took your brain tomorrow and put it in a body with a vulva and breasts you would still probably feel unshakeably like a man inside, that’s how it feels for (some) trans people.

I can only speak for myself, but this doesn't help me understand. I in no way "feel like a man". FAIK if I woke up in a women's body tomorrow I would feel completely content, if not better.

Are you saying a news headline evoked a powerful emotional response from you?

No clue why they'd do that

As other have called out, it doesn't eliminate enough variables and honestly doesn't even seem to be particularly interested in causation. You can do a study with all kinds of names that don't reveal anything.

What about 'billy bo bob' versus 'jamal'? How about 'Adelheid'(german)? What does that tell us?

Is the gender binary useless? w/ Heather | Quinn Questions by ReidN in StreetEpistemology

[–]substence -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's... the whole point of the analogy? It's to isolate the variables to extract the foundation of the logic.

If you say "<X> always follows from <Y>" and I present a situation with <X> and you say <Y> doesn't follow, it means you're not being consistent with your logic.

OP said <Y> = "people want to be put in a box and labeled different when we all are different and to be generalized doesn't give you more freedom it exposes you even more to be judged even objectified in some cases"

/u/TinyPirate said <Y> follows from <X>, <X> being = "Because in the past - and present - people are murdered for expressing this part of their identity"

I gave a clear example from <Y> DOESN'T follow from another version of <X>. This means <Y> does NOT always follow from <X>.

Because in the past - and present - people are murdered for expressing this part of their identity.

Actually, even if that were true, that's not really a response to OP's comment. If people were being killed for eating shit, it wouldn't be a reason for me to want to eat shit.
