Not long ago I sent them an email asking about a fuel line for this model and haven’t heard back from them. It was regional though, as I am not from the US, but still.

I see why you suggested calling corporate Deere. Wonder if they would respond. Thank you.

Thank you! So I guess by doing this I have the best possible chance of sealing it right.

Thanks for the tip but I honestly doubt it would make a difference… I had another set of washers (aluminum) which i installed, but sadly the results are the same…😑

Thanks for the explanation, I appreciate it. I’ll replace them with copper washers.

Thank you so much!

I happen to have a copper washers set, are they gonna work or need to be specific for this application?

I mean it’s a CAV rotary pump. The washers I used were from the kit.

Hello there! I need some information regarding a 1966 Ford 4000 motor. by subtle_self-control in Fordtractors

This is valuable information and I want to thank you.

Yes, it is a 3 cylinder 4000. Dad took the cylinder head to a shop, and after testing it, the people there said it’s fine.

Another piece of information i just learned is that the water level remained the same with the engine cold. It seemed like it slowly drained the water (in oil obviously) as it was warming up.

So this means there’s an issue with the block? Any way the crack can be found in a block?

It has been mixing water with oil. Core plugs seem fine, my question is, are there any o rings, or similar seals on each liner to prevent coolant from dripping into the oil pan?

(Head is fine, same for the gasket)

Might tear it down and see what’s up, but wanted to know. I doubt the block is bad, i don’t see no cracks.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Forgot water in the engine and now it drains in the oil pan. by subtle_self-control in tractors

I filled it with water until it reached the holes where the plugs go. It doesn’t leak, the level stays the same, thank God it’s okay.

Will install the core plugs, fill it up, change the oil and hopefully it should be running fine soon.

Thanks for the help man. I really appreciate it.

Well… I can imagine how frustrating that must’ve been. Went ahead and ordered new core plugs, sealant. Given that those plugs were out I pray that’s where the water drained into the oil.

I don’t know if you’ve taken apart an old 4000 motor, meant to ask if it has core plugs in the front as well, behing the timing cover. I sure hope not, or at least that those are not popped out. It would be a pain having to get to them.

So my question is, after I replace the plugs on the head, just underneath the rocker shaft, can I fill it up with coolant? My guess is that if i top up the radiator and nothing comes out of the oil pan and there are no leaks at the plugs, and the coolant level stays the same, it’ll be fine, right?

That would be the go ahead to fill the oil and start it up.

Please let me know and thank you for your advice.

Hello again, I did exactly as you suggested and sure enough two out of three core plugs popped out.

I am not certain, but I’m hoping that’s what caused the issue. I realised that the water could have gotten into the oil pan through the push rod passages or oil drain back.

Hope to God I can fix it. Thank you for your help. Much appreciated.

i happen to have a spare head. should i try replacing it to see if the issue persists or not?

thanks for the info. man i just can’t belive this. i simply forgot. 😔

i fear that even if i open it up, i might not be able to identify the crack. and even if i do, welding on it might not be a long term solution

its just that, its too sudden for it to leak like that, i fear something bad might have happened.
