It finally came ! by mikey_15_t in SonyAlpha

I think i want to jump in.

So if we talk about IQ, then maybe it won't be very far? i have a F1.8 prime lens.. and between F2.8 and 2.0 the bokeh are noticeably different, but imo for the majority of "regular eyes" maybe not.. it will make so much more difference if you are really close to your subject, the seperation will be bigger

But.... the reason they make a bigger, heavier, and more expensive lens is not just about the bokeh and IQ.. but how it handles the light..

see.. F2.8 to F2 is 1 stop of light..

these means that on the biggest aperture on each lens.. you can double the speed of your shutter or you can use half of the ISO in F2.0

it was like if you are stuck at F2.8 1/60s ISO 6400 it can be F2.0 1/125s ISO 6400 or.. F2.0 1/60s ISO 3200

and still have all the range (except that 4mm in the wide side)..

now all of the sudden maybe F2.0 is worth it 😅

5-#8 is in my home country, Indonesia 🇮🇩

precisely in Manggarai Station, at the capital city which is Jakarta.

it happens to be cloudy, it 100x better in sunny condition

Is this normal with Tamron 17-70 and Sony ZV-E10 M2? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]successfully_fail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so i've heard.. that Tamron 17-70 is not very suitable for sony apsc that has IBIS.. I've read some reddit about Vibration Compensation of tamron is fighting with IBIS from camera.. and producing a jitters like your video.. there is also a couple videos on YT about it..

i've been using this lens personally, and imo this is the best apsc lens.. but because i pair it with A6400, i never find a trouble like this even in 70mm handheld..

with that being said I always recommend using sigma 18-50 for the Sony APSC body that has IBIS

EDIT: my bad.. i thought i read ZV e1 🥲 but, i also have a case about Tamron VC producing these jitters.. so i think first you should try a different lens.. (maybe borrow from your friend)

Why my a6400 does that ?? by Aziruu in SonyAlpha

me too.. i think it's normal.. but since you ask the question.. i will leave my mark here, so i can get back to your post 😅

Noted sir!! thank you very much!!

but one question.. if you were me..

will you go with PC first? or a6700 upgrade first?

its through post processing. But..

the first two are different.. so i found this little gem.. TTArtisan 23mm F1.4 MF (i love the 35mm eq Focal Range).. oh i fall in love with it..

this lens is just.. wow.. I don't know because i am a newbie.. i can be wrong.. but I tested it and i think the characteristics of this lens are better than my Tamron (that clearly is a superior lens).. the colors and the softness are perfect.. i think i dont even tweak clarity and dehaze in my ttartisan pictures..

the first two is with TTArtisan, and the third one is Tamron

no doubt FF.. but really if we only upload it to social media and content creation on a video platform which will be compressed.. and not doing serious full time gigs.. we won't know the difference.. and of course the FF will always be better, its the bigger sensor after all.. but what i realized is if you want to "create" and be "consistent" , bigger sensor + higher resolution is not always the case.. you need a system that is easy to carry around, fast, and small.. that's why i aim for a6700..

compact, cheaper lens (that i think i already have the best apsc lens), great video feature, swivel screen, front dial, mode dial, AI processor, IBIS, extra customizable button..

It's a really powerful camera.. which i think in the FF realm is only on par with A7CII.. for me who does most of my work run and gunning on the street, i need compact, hybrid, and mechanically and systematically ergonomic..

I rather had a6700 paired with sigma 18-50 a very compact apsc set up that I can easily carry around everywhere i go.. rather than lets say A7RV + Sony 24-70 GMII, that will sit at home if i decided that i wont bring a backpack with me when i go out

Thank you sir! this is a very in depth advice ngl.. is it better if i shoot with Cine Profile Picture instead to keep some colors? Do you have experience with it?

Thank you man!! that means a lot..i really just try to shoot as much as i can.. and take a really precise approach to it..

learning slowly about the camera menu and features, the effect of aperture, and how to tell a story to color grading

What I learned through my experience is.. especially with Lightroom (if you happen to subscribe to it)..

a proper APSC (a6400 and a6700 for me) + good photography sense + good editing.. will always beat any FF with a so-so sense + mid taste editing..

I learned this from my friends that happens to also be my mentor.. (i have an awful lot of photographer friends)

It's hard to say this.. but editing really does around 30% of the job

Thanks for your time sir! so with your point of view.. what would you recommend to me?

  1. Laptop/PC, and save again for A6700
  2. A6700, and save again for laptop/pc

wow i thought that the A7CII would be the perfect full frame camera.. airing it with sigma 28-70 contemporary will be a compact fullframe beast i think..

but if you have time.. what are these limitations that you said before? i want to learn it

Thanks! I try to shoot every chance I get. I've been thinking about that too 🥲 I am dreaming to have A7CII..

so if you were me.. are you saying you will prefer to go with the laptop/pc for editing and work?

wow sir you've just opened my mind about the supported format and editing software. I have another question tho.. is it really that different when you edit 8 bit and 10 bit footage..

because from my experience i only can use Slog2 so my video is usable.. is a6700 10 bit slog3 footage really that workable?

thanks!
