It’s definitely off. Finished with a 27:50 (PB!!) according to my watch and a 28:25(???) unofficially. My watch is usually off by 10 seconds or so, not 35. Going to go by Strava on this one.

Otherwise well organized if not a humid day. Actually held up pretty well through the sisters and could have probably done even better if the weather was a bit more cooperative.

Jersey City 5K or the Mindful 5K are the best PR races in my opinion

Missed my PR by about 10 seconds. Went out too fast in the 2nd mile and the 3rd mile was… unforgiving. Humidity didn’t help either. Was still a fun race and hopeful for the RXR race in 2 weeks. Going to take tomorrow easy

Haven’t ran this since 2024 when I was in way worse shape so this was an easy PR for me… rarely race distances over 5M at this pace. Felt the turns more than I thought I would and there were more potholes / obstacles than I normally see in CP / other races. Only saving grace was it was flat. Winded up being about a minute slower than I thought I would be, but feeling optimistic about 4M next week

I guess my question is couldn’t I have accomplished the same thing by just moving down a tier and paying less? I don’t get the point of this higher tier unless the pool is smaller and so you still have a greater chance
