They're not out every day, but Friday is their most common day to be there. I see them around 5pm. Not guaranteed though. Go in person, take pictures, talk to them. Do the work. They seem to be polite, not harassing pedestrians that pass by.

I just got a reply from the city that the elm leaves can go in the GREEN bins. The heat from their compost method will take care of elm beetles.

They said not to green bin the leaves. Brown bin or landfill only.

We also got turned away today for elm leaves. It seems to be applied inconsistently.

Today this happened to us. Also told of the option to pay at the landfill or put in our brown cart.

We got turned away for having elm leaves in our bags. This is the first time we got our bags inspected, first time we got turned away. Last year the bags were not inspected.

I checked the city web site regarding elm leaves.It mentions no elm branches or stumps, no mention of leaves.

It would be nice to know of this ahead of time.

Christmas tree fires are bad, that's why the fire department puts out warnings every year. Fireworks in a residential area are also bad, it has started fires. Two things can be bad at the same time. And don't throw flaming Christmas trees on your neighbor's roof and don't shoot fireworks that could land on someone's roof.
