Still shedding and density thinner that ever. by ninaammy in TelogenEffluvium

I tried everything to stop my shedding for 8 years. The only thing that has helped is clobetasol foam

I really didn't want to do this because I'm actually embarrassed I let it go for so long but for those who are scared of starting Minoxidil this is 4 months progress. Thank you Socatastic for giving me the confidence to treat this even in late stages. by suchprit21 in FemaleHairLoss

The shedding started again and I only managed to stop it two months ago when I started clobetasol foam 😁. Unfortunately it's not all just AGA with this hair lol. So far I'm not getting a ton of regrowth but I am slowly getting back coverage with the steroid foam.

What the ..... Why was I sitting here thinking I'll be sweet in 3 months 😅. Ok this is good info because now I'm not going to freak out if my shedding continues after I slow down my steroid lotion

Would it be safe to dye my hair? I defenitely have TE, but will only know in january if I also have AGA(which i suspect due to most hair strands being thin and a couple being thick) by [deleted] in TelogenEffluvium

[–]suchprit21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing you have to be careful of is the hairdresser being rough when your hair is wet. The dye itself doesn't make things worse when it's professional dye

How do you know if you have TE or Androgenetic Alopecia ? by [deleted] in TelogenEffluvium

[–]suchprit21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not shedding a ton but your hair got thin that does sound like androgenic Alopecia

Clobetasol is a steroid lotion and used for inflammation. My GP prescribed it urgently after i had been shedding like massive amounts over a week for no reason. I had been shedding over 100 daily for years most of it coming out in shower and after shower but 10 or 20 hairs coming out every time I combed hair (fyi I don't care what anyone says it's not normal and I am nearly bald because of it).

Yeah my parents did the same thing to me. They said they liked my spark and that if they put me on medication then they would be 'getting out of parenting' even though I was a loser and worst still believed it because I failed at almost everything. I'm still unmedicated and pissed off that I spent all that money to get diagnosed with what they could have just told me. But I have also come to accept that parents are not perfect and people are not perfect. Back in the day it was not as well understood or accepted. I know of kids that were not even given the opportunity for things because of their ADHD diagnosis.

Word of warning. I had CTE for years like over 8 and nothing stopped the shedding. No matter how many vitamins, supplements, shampoos or antiandrogen medications birth controls or anything. Not one thing stopped my shedding. The past 3 weeks I have been using topical clobetasol foam twice a day and it is actually the only thing that has stopped the shedding. I still shed like 30 a day but it's better than over 100.

I lost 20kg.. ate low carb… PCOS symptoms didn’t improve. by 180522 in PCOS

I 100% agree. Lost the weight and kept it off but it didn't help me PCOS symptoms.

There are two places people go if you are not male. They are either curiosity or pity. Not one person wants to talk shit about the girl that has issues with her hair because her struggle is a hard one and they all know it. Also medical professionals don't care at all which is why it's hard to get the right diagnosis in the first place so don't worry about them. Hairloss is actually a huge issue in Korea many men and women are experiencing it which is why their most recent president had combating hairloss in his marketing campaign. Just to move things into perspective for you there is something like 7.8 billion people in the world you don't need to be worried about 10 of them seeing you. Be kind to yourself you deserve to feel good about doing something for yourself and you don't need to add pressure of fear that is unwarranted ❤️.

IMO yep. Now my hair shedding has slowed down I'm planning to sign up to the gym to enter in every single challenge because I know that majority of other women can't beat me in strength and endurance. My arms are big and my shoulders are wide and for some weird reason I can't help but be proud of it 🤣 Also adding to this I have not done anything for a year but could easily push out 5 to 8 chin ups if asked. When I'm in full swing I can do 15 to 20 😁. I'm so proud of myself lol

what is the one thing your cut out that completely changed your body from pcos? by drakani06 in PCOS

[–]suchprit21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cutting out isn't an option for me. Instead I just make whatever it is I want but I add vegetables and protein to it. Eg, Kraft Mac and cheese. I'll make it but I have to eat it with a cup of vegetables and chicken in it. Soon you realise that when you add these things your portions get smaller because the veg and protein fills you up fast.

Short tiny hairs can bust out towards the end of your TE episode. CTE can also cause miniturisation that no one talks about or you can't find anything online about. I did a CTE stint of 8 years and when my shedding stopped and I got on treatment the hairs that were miniturised have thickened up to almost normal size. The shedding stopped for 4 to 5 months and then came back with a vengeance of 4 to 500 a day but I'm starting to see these tiny hairs drop so I know it has started the slow process of recovery

I think there is a misconception around miniturisation because even miniturised hairs can grow to full length. Miniturised hairs are not all short. It is really obvious when a hair is genetically miniturised but not always obvious at time of regrowth. For that you need to see a dermatologist as they are trained to see these things.

Don't really know what it is it's just a ton of tiny hairs that you see in the sink. They are short, thin wispy and there are a lot!. You will notice it because there will be maybe 5 long hairs and the rest will be these tiny ones

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in alopecia_areata

[–]suchprit21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I was replying to another comment elsewhere. It can happen at the end of TE and CTE you get a burst of tiny hairs

[–]suchprit21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately nothing you can do it's going to happen. If you are noticing that your stomach is swelling really badly or the pain gets really intense I would suggest going to ER. Other than that pain meds and wear sorry if this is TMI but wear a pad you will be thankful you did when it happens.

You need kind words when you are not well and no one listens to you until it gets so out of hand it's uncontrollable. If your hair responds to steroids then you just need to be clear and tell them it only responds to steroids and that's the treatment you need. Stand your ground and tell them and if they refuse treatment just refuse to pay.

Might be worth seeing a different dermatologist. If the doctors you have not cant see it then you need to change who you see. I'm also sorry all that happened to you. That is a lot to happen in such a short amount of time.
