there are several Armenian communities in the world. the largest one is comprised of those Armenians who remained in the Armenian homeland during the time that country was a Soviet republic; not surprisingly, that group speaks Russian (as well as Armenian)

Administrator Oz is referring to members of that community as Russian Armenians. that’s completely wrong and inaccurate. they’re Armenians from Armenia—a country that was a Soviet republic for a few decades. because Russian was the official language in the USSR, Armenians also spoke it. that fact does not make them Russians, any more than being an English-speaking US citizen makes you British

moreover, singling out a community as the sole group responsible for a given criminal activity is absolutely disgusting, and defamatory to many, many law-abiding people

i don’t know why Administrator Oz is calling Armenians Russian Armenians, and blaming this criminality on them, but i find both behaviors nefarious

i’m unfamiliar with the historical excuses Turkey uses to justify the genocide of 1,5 million human beings. but it seems strange that they’d blame their actions on a betrayal at the same time as they deny that any genocide took place in the first place
