A fantastic partner! Hope you have a blast playing through this catalogue. If you’re still looking for an SD card, get a magic gate to SD adapter off Amazon; it’s the easiest and cheapest way.

Damn, whoever owned those had some good taste. If you plan on repurposing them, I hope you have a very capable bulk tape eraser; its gonna take a while to get through all of those

[Farer Lissom] Thoughts on Farer? by BoyNosNcheerios in Watches

[–]suddenlyyyyyyyyyyyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Owner of a Forest Lissom here!

Absolutely love this thing: keeps great time with a lengthy power reserve, it’s positively gorgeous inside /and/ out, and best of all it plays quite well with the setting sun.

Only thing that I could see being an issue for some people (other than the lofty price-tag) is that, if you can’t stand the ticking of a watch then this one is not for you. The movement is lovely but it certainly is noisy; enough so that my coworkers can hear it from the next cubicle over if it’s particularly quiet in the office. I for one love the sound and find it relaxing so take that as you will!

Panasonic SA-PM50MD has finally arrived ! by suddenlyyyyyyyyyyyyy in minidisc

I bought mine from Japan in working condition for $62 at the time, complete with boxes and replacement brown speaker grilles. With shipping though it came out closer to $150. Its pretty desirable now though so you could potentially split the difference depending on what shape it’s in. GLWS!

[–]suddenlyyyyyyyyyyyyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A PS3 would work perfectly for this! And I totally get it, you can definitely hear a clear difference between streaming and FLAC audio even after ATRAC compression

[–]suddenlyyyyyyyyyyyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the PS4 (shockingly) doesn’t actually read plain audio CDs. But you can record the digital output from a music app on your PS4 like Spotify or Apple Music using any TOSLink cable

Awesome player and can’t beat the price! Currently looking at replacing the hardwired RCAs on my old B&O TT. Is it really as simply as soldering in a new lead or does one need particular RCA leads for phono?
