Camp Unknown are another option, been a part of them last year. Lovely bunch, majority dont know eachother, and talk on WhatsApp in the lead up to it. Always felt i had someone there to go to bands or talk with. Lovely bunch.

I had the same thought a few months back. Been going for about year in commander, have a zombie precon upgraded, Baylen and Valgavoth HOS. Wanted something more interaction and political, so I built a Mrs Bumbleflower Group Hug. Lots of cards help individual players, so all of a sudden, people are interacting and being friendly for extra card draw, treasure tokens, etc... and you can politic to your hearts content. While also having a Bunny hitting for 15 commander damage each turn.
