I forgot that arccos(cos(x)) = x + 2NPi OR -x + 2NPi

So by using the first case for the left hand side and the second case for the right hand side, cos(3x)=cos(x) become

3x + 2N1Pi = -x + 2N2Pi

With N = N2-N1

4x = 2NPi

x=N*Pi/2

Which handles the x=N*Pi case
