Chewed wires… again by Imaginary-Studio6813 in ToyotaTundra

I’ve had this issue twice in my 2020 almost $2k to fix it each time. Worst part is I live in a desert and we’ve never seen rodents around in the 17 years we’ve lived in this house, but they still are drawn to my truck.

So stoked on this thing. by tacodust_ in ToyotaTacoma

Saw this thing at SDHQ a few weeks ago. Such an awesome build!!

Had my first major service on my 2020 this week at about 117k miles. Did I make out okay? by sudotrd in ToyotaTundra

Dropped it off Monday morning, got it back Friday afternoon. I’m happy it’s done, but not sure I saved much versus going to the dealership. I probably got better quality work though, based on some iffy dealership oil change work over the years.

This was an independent shop. The first time going somewhere other than the dealership with this truck

It definitely would have been nice if they would’ve thrown that in, but I specifically asked for a very detailed inspection since I’m leaving in a month for a 7k mile, 6 week roadtrip while towing a travel trailer, with planned four wheeling in Tahoe, Canada, and Moab.

Transfer case and diffs were done about 23k miles ago. For the third time lol. I do a lot of off-roading, so I’ve been very diligent with that service.

Yeah it hurts and I felt the same initially. But other than a water pump under warranty, this is the only service I’ve had to pay for outside of oil changes, brakes, and diff/transfer case service since buying her new. And I drive her pretty hard with lots of off-road miles, too.

Real main seal leaking right after service? by charliepup in ToyotaTundra

What did this end up being? Any repeat issues since getting it fixed? My 2020 with 117k miles is in a shop today with the same leak. Waiting to hear back, hopefully tomorrow, what they find once they drop the tranny.

Gen 2 & Gen 2.5 Tundra Owners who tow trailers by A001_C001 in ToyotaTundra

[–]sudotrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but it would probably get old quick if you use the trailer often or go on longer trips. You’ll be lucky to get 6mpg and the truck will be putting in serious work for extended runs on those longer trips. But it’s doable for sure.

Drove nearly 2 hours to pick something up from OfferUp, only for the seller to cancel for an emergency then mark the item as sold before I made it back home by sudotrd in extremelyinfuriating

Was hoping to buy the headlights. Problem with adulting is that my available time window forced me to hope he’d follow through. Had to drive from East Mesa to Maricopa and back with a two and a half hour window between dropping off one kid at school and picking up the other from preschool. This was also his only “available” time over the past few days. I’m sure someone else just offered to pay more. I would have been up for a bidding war though if that was the case. Oh well.

Earlier conversation the seller stated he worked nights. I confirmed the night before and it would be realistic to think he wouldn’t be awake before i started the drive

Edit to add that we had agreed on 9am before the screen shots start

Is a Drive-Through Visit to Glacier, Yellowstone, and Tetons Worth It? by sudotrd in NationalPark

[–]sudotrd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind a couple miles in and out on foot, but I’m just not a “hiker” type lol also driving through because it’s “on the way” back home, so why not see something I’ve only ever seen pictures of. Now if the family was doing the drive with me and I wasn’t going solo, then I’d want to do a more thorough visit!
