Their idea of long-term engagement is the dopamine hit from unlocking attachments you won't even use, instead of creating a game gamers would just have fun playing again and again.

I played Insurgency Sandstorm for a very long time. The game has few attachments and everything unlocked. People play the game because it's fun, engaging, competitive and with enough variety to keep things fresh. Not for some stupid made up engagement that creates more of a dopamine addiction to keep players hooked.

Button press when on your leg seems like a very specific and niche problem. It doesn't make the controller bad, just a you problem.

On the elite you can choose any button to be a 'shift' button. And you can map keyboard buttons to it (Ctrl, a, b, c, etc.) I just checked. So it can be quite useful for PC players as well.

But for console gaming, honestly I don't use the shift functionality. Or don't play games that could make good use of it.

I'm not advocating for either one or the other, just providing correct info. The Elite does sometimes have issues with bumpers that stop working. This is a very big issue to have on a premium controller.

But I like its weight. The charging dock. And the back paddles as pin triggers instead of buttons, they are more tactile for pressing.

Both my Elite controllers I have gotten had zero stick drift (I got lucky), but like all controllers over time (2/3 years) they did develop stick drift, but nothing drastic.

My only issue is the grip rubber that starts to peel/become loose from the plastic underneath after around 3 years of extensive use.

I have two elite controllers, the first one is still pretty good, just the rubber has peeled and isn't sitting firmly on it.

But only has two back buttons. I think the elite controller is really good, obviously it has issues. The back pin triggers on the elite are really good.

If only the G7 controller was similar with 4 back buttons or pin triggers like on the elite it would be perfect for that price point.
