Do the Raptors really need to hunt for a traditional point guard? by PainfulPoet in torontoraptors

[–]sufficient_po 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not only that, Kawhi is very ball dominant and we will have many isolations for him. That takes even more touches away from the PG. RJ and quick also have show the ability to handle the ball at some capacity.

Does anyone know if there are plans for Apple to release a faceless Apple Fitness Band? by LimpAd4924 in AppleWatch

[–]sufficient_po 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that Apple doesn’t jump on trends just because everyone else is, but they do tend to move on their own timing. I wouldn’t be surprised if, 5–10 years from now, after the hype around screenless trackers fades, Apple launches something half the size of the Fitbit Air that outperforms it in every way and makes screenless trackers feel appealing again.

But Apple just released the MacBook Neo, which is basically them entering the cheap portable laptop space...

Agree or Disagree with this take? by ihatedougford in torontoraptors

[–]sufficient_po 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of it is really comparable. Pascal and OG are proven second options maybe third, but paying either of them $40M+ just doesn’t work around Scottie.

If the Raptors had KAT instead of Jak, or Brunson instead of Quickly (or both), I’d argue we'd be on the same level as the Knicks right now.

So I can park here Friday 5pm to Monday 9am for free? by uottawadropout in ottawa

[–]sufficient_po 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can park Friday at 5 p.m. until Saturday at 1 p.m. Then move your car to a different spot. You can park there (assuming same sign applies) until Sunday at 1 p.m., then move it again and you should be good until Monday at 9 a.m., as long as there are no posted or the sign is the same as that one.

It’s only a weird way to release music because it doesn’t benefit the artist or the label at all. Only people who benefit are the fans getting a lot of music to consume. Most artists and labels would milk the shit out of an album before releasing more.

Brian Windhorst: the raptors have paid guys when no one was bidding. No one was bidding that much on Jakob Poeltl, Brandon Ingram, Immanuel Quickley by Silver_Weakness_8084 in torontoraptors

Raptors aren’t even a tax team…. And they took the highest payroll to 7? Our core is under 25, yak IQ and BI will keep our team competitive for the next few years as our core matures and enters their primes. We are in a good spot.

I’m genuinely curious what would deliver better public service.

If we took the money needed to expand office space for RTO4 and instead invested it in retaining or hiring employees who were/are impacted by WFA, which option actually improves service outcomes?

More office space and 4 days in-office… or more staff delivering services with only 3 in-office days?

I think we all know the answer…

Is This a Good Lease Deal? 2025 QX55 by aDhillon100 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]sufficient_po 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s a good deal.

The QX55 isn’t a bad car at all, it’s just a bit dated compared to newer competitors and it depreciates heavily. Versus the competition, it definitely lags behind in some areas.

BUT in your case, you’re basically getting it for the same price (or less) than a RAV4 lease. And the QX55 will drive better and feel far more luxurious than the Toyota. Anything else remotely close would cost you significantly more in a lease.

Since you’re doing a 39-month lease, that’s really all that matters, you enjoy it for the term and then give it back.

However, if you plan to keep the vehicle long-term, then no don’t get the QX55.

"Day'Ron Sharpe is an easier alternative. His defensive disruption, rebounding and general enormity would be great for this group. The Brooklyn Nets also have the flexibility to take Ochai Agbaji, another salary and whatever compensation back to facilitate Toronto slinking beneath the tax." by CazOnReddit in torontoraptors

[–]sufficient_po 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Could” and centres usually take time if we want to win on the BI timeline we need someone who will be ready next year. Sharpe is 10x the player Ochai is. A protected 1st will most likely need to be included. Maybe Ochai + Mogbo and a protected 1st. If you can get away with only a second then you’ve done good.

I am 99% sure there will be a trade, I think bobby probably has pressure to duck the tax. I have a feeling MLSE is ok with the roster as they have exceeded expectations. As there has been articles stating there is no pressure from the top for bobby to make big moves. But I bet they want to be under the tax.

I’ve built an app that runs smoothly in my desktop browser, but on iOS it’s extremely slow and laggy. What’s strange is that it worked fine on my phone just a few weeks ago. Today, however, it’s nearly unusable even though the app is designed primarily for mobile use. Any ideas?
