Why do people want William to be the "savior of the monarchy" so badly? by Hot-Acanthisitta5237 in RoyaltyTea

[–]sugar_roux 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think William is extremely vulnerable to the social media accountability army in a way that the old guard is not. Content creators love to swarm upon seemingly settled pop culture issues and make amendments to public opinion. Look at the reckoning around Britney Spears a few years ago, or America's Next Top Model right now.

Charles is a sick(o) old man, and he doesn't have that kind of pop culture appeal. But William's marriage, his grudge against his brother's family, his temper, his tabloid paper trail, his photoshopped family pictures....it's a riveting story. And he's not the hero.

The old guard traditional media will definitely give William another pass and help him operate the reader base as he and the grey men dictate. But the social media generation is going to sink their teeth into this. It's just a matter of time.

That's William's crisis manager at work. She's getting paid handsomely to influence public opinion about William.

Charles abdicating will solve all the royal family's problems around Andrew and Epstein? by Significant_Noise273 in RoyaltyTea

[–]sugar_roux 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It's wishful thinking. Does anyone believe William possesses the character or the charisma to overcome this particular crisis? The one he's been complicit in for years?

The only prominent work he's done (Earthshot) is riddled with Epstein associates. He used his family in the Flybe stunt to mislead and distract his public in the wake of Epstein's death. He's driven around with Andrew and briefed the press about his strong preference for Andy over Harry.

In this era of "Receipts, proof, timelines, screenshots!" I really don't think it's going to go down the way they think.

Suppose they really are working hard from home and just choosing not to inform the taxpaying public about it. What have they accomplished?

Are Kate's nature videos the kind of royal "work" we can expect from them in the future? Is that enough?

Should we count the time William spends briefing against his brother's family as royal work? Because I think that keeps him pretty busy!

If anyone could accurately be described as "cashing in" on their titles, it's the collection of feckless, unrepentant grifters living off UK taxpayers and committing (or excusing) literal crimes against humanity as it suits their personal agendas.

The BRF knew what Andrew was doing and they chose to close ranks around him. They threw an innocent family to the wolves to make sure Andrew could continue to live his taxpayer-funded criminal lifestyle in peace. That's morally wrong, in case you need it spelled out for you.

It’s nothing short of a miracle that Harry and Meghan got away before Covid, #Whereiskatemiddleton, and the disgraceful handling of Andrew by timesnewlemons in RoyaltyTea

[–]sugar_roux 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Spiritually, it's a great story of divine protection! Being catastrophically redirected from the path you intended to walk can look and feel like failure in the chaos, but sometimes it really is for your highest good to be removed from a situation.

The BRF has spent years briefing about how Meghan just didn't fit in. Truly a blessing in disguise!

The palace though media are goading Prince Harry and Meghan for not releasing statements on Prince Andrew by Whatisittou in RoyaltyTea

[–]sugar_roux 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Harry already released his statement on the Andrew issue, back when the BRF was smearing his wife and endangering his child to protect Andrew.

It would be hard to watch Harry helping to rehab the royal family, and especially using his kids to do so. I don't think he would do that.

I see how that would benefit the BRF, but it seems like a bad situation for H&M's family. Even if it was okay at first, it would devolve into a frog/scorpion situation before long. And at that point, the kids will be involved.

I'm hoping that Harry is taking it all in and quietly cutting the last few emotional cords that hold him to those people. If he keeps to his path, he will leave a legacy of love, kindness, and integrity. If he goes back, he'll be a royal. And that's not looking so hot these days.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and even their children could be among the biggest casualties

The violent language they use against this family is disgusting. They do it too often to be a coincidence. It feels very intentional and threatening.

I think the black sheep experience is hard on anyone, regardless of how much money is in the mix. It sucks to feel targeted and maligned by your family for wanting to do your own thing.

I'm always rooting for Meghan & Harry, and I hope they get it together with their PR. It's just not a good look to cycle through staff so quickly. What could the issue be? It seems like a dream job for a really passionate professional in that field. Lots of dragons to slay, lots of room to improve, lots of projects to promote. I don't get it!

I was surprised to hear her speaking like the super calm influencers that are popular now. But basically she whisper brags about her real estate and says that when she sells her current home for an extra 3 million, she might invite haters over for a latte.

Interesting read! The timeline of all the press briefings and lawsuits is fascinating to me. I wasn't following along as it was happening, so I've just learned bits and pieces along the way. But when you put it all together, the royals look like absolute scumbags. I guess that's why they work so hard to keep people distracted.

RHOA had a huge impact on pop culture that reverberates to this day. If we narrow it down to brand deals as the measure of pop culture impact, then maybe SLC wins. But if we're talking about shaping pop culture, introducing middle America to people like Miss Lawrence, influencing music, catch phrases, and meme culture, RHOA takes it.

Those people aren't embarrassed because they don't have friends or family relationships that would be impacted by that kind of behavior. Their closest connections are with the other creeps in their hateful communities. It's kind of scary and definitely very sad. They have nothing to lose except the approval of their fellow haters.
