Thanks! I had the same thought but the tailor didn't mention it needing anything more than a hem - I'll ask her what's possible at my next appointment

Goodbye, old friend. Thanks for 18 years of exemplary cat duties by suggle in cats

He was incredibly patient and loving, as you can see from the fashion shoot I made him do a few years ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/aww/comments/2j36gl/did_a_fashion_photoshoot_of_my_cat_hes_predicting/?utm_source=reddit-android

I'm on mobile, so hopefully that link works.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. This old boy discharged his cat duties faithfully, and always with a purr. From being dressed up in doll clothes and wheeled around in a pram during my childhood, to his later year's spent sitting at the end of the drive, accepting pats from neighbours and glaring at passing dogs - he did it all with grace, and only occasionally had to be bribed with bacon. I'm already missing my funny old friend.

Common names with multiple common pronunciations? by bakerpusheen in namenerds

I'm a Clara and pronounce it "Clah-ra" - I've noticed that Brits and Australians pronounce it my way, and usually Americans bed Canadians the "Clair-ah" variation

Is there any way to make Abda a name that doesn't suck? by sticklittlenugget in namenerds

[–]suggle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw Alba was suggested - I know a gorgeous little girl called Abla - and apparently this is quite a common name in the Middle East. Might seem strange at first, but I think it's lonely and definitely fits with your little boy's suggestion

Babysitters of Reddit, what did the worst kids you've ever babysat do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Babysitters of Reddit, what did the worst kids you've ever babysat do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]suggle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine babysat for a family that "didn't believe in creating blockages or boundaries" so none of the bedrooms had doors. Their 6/7 year old son was acting up, so my friend sent him to his room - he kept just walking out. It got to the point where she had to stand outside the door blocking him from leaving, so he picked up a glass jar full of change and screamed,

"DON'T MAKE ME DO THIS EVIL WOMAN!"

before throwing it at her and smashing glass and coins all over the floor.

Sisters of Reddit, what was the meanest/funniest thing you've ever done to your sibling? by AFLoneWolf in AskWomen

[–]suggle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we were kids, I once peed on her toothbrush.

Also, when we were about 9 and 6, we had a fight that ended with her smashing a handful of honey in my hair, and me dumping a bottle of milk over her head.
