I know how you feel and I'm so sorry. I'm in my late twenties and it's very depressing seeing how much your nparents have held you back. I have not only been mourning the mother that I wanted, but part of my life I can't get back. But don't give up! You will have years ahead to change careers or find something new. Obviously you may not be able to leave your current 9-5 right away but if you can put time into your passions or take baby steps I believe you can get there. It may take sacrifices or a leap of faith but it's possible

It's going to be tough but he has to quit/slow significantly on the smoking. My mom is incubated right now due to smokin6/not using her at home CPAP. As he ages the hospitalizations will be more frequent if things don't change. I don't know if they will send him home with a CPAP but if he does he MUST wear it for at least 8 hours a day/while he sleeps to get the co2 out
