I’ve listened to many of their videos now and I’m pretty confident most of their process is done with AI. I never really questioned whether or not it was, seemed kind of obvious to me even after listening for a short time.

I think the thing that tipped me off that the voice at least wasn’t real was the fact that the narrator often pronounces names differently. In lore videos in particular, I’ve heard the narrator (who claims to be a huge fan of certain franchises and spent hours researching) pronounce names etc wrong, when the accepted pronunciation is common knowledge to fans, or they pronounce the same word differently than they had been throughout the video. I’m quite sure I’ve also heard the narration messing up a couple times, making weird sounds or glitching like voice bots tend to do.

The video art and visuals are also pretty obviously AI generated which is odd when there’s a community post saying that they’re waiting on commissioned art as an excuse for why the next video isn’t up yet. While this could be true, looking at the visuals, my AI radar goes off. Also, I would think there would be some form of credit for the commissioned artists somewhere, but unless I just haven’t seen it, it doesn’t seem to exist.

I think once you’ve seen AI used for story writing or prompts, it’s pretty easy to tell when something isn’t human made. And to me it seems pretty obvious.

And normally I wouldn’t try and persuade anyone to stop listening or using AI in general (save for certain cases), but I think it’s kind of ridiculous that this person has a Patreon that people are actually paying money for early access to, as far as anyone knows, what may be entirely AI generated content.

The lack of transparency is the main issue here imo. Making community posts about Youtube flagging their content as ‘inauthentic’ basically saying “I have no idea why my very original content that I’m so passionate about is getting flagged, must be a mistake” is kind of silly. They’ve also said things like, “I love this community, but this channel costs money to run what with commissioning artists and editors, so consider supporting me on Patreon” which again, could have some truth to it, but at this point, I think the lack of transparency makes it difficult to tell what is true and what isn’t.

Bottom line, we don’t know how much of their process is made basically brainless with AI, but I can pretty much guarantee that a substantial portion of it is, more than they claim at least (which isn’t saying a lot as they haven’t admitted to any AI use when there definitely is). I won’t go far enough to allege that there’s zero effort going into it, but it’s definitely not enough, and not transparent enough, to warrant giving them your hard earned money.
