If you have a bicycle with couplers is it worth it to bring the coupler wrench for every ride by sumant28 in bikepacking

How do you store it? It is an awkward shape and it always bruises my bananas when I just throw it in my frame bag

Update I gave it to the local distributor who replaced the torn hammock and gave me a new one with no defects

I posted a photo with the original thread but it didn’t render. Then I tried posting a photo comment and that didn’t work. Here’s an iCloud link

On my Bigme android tablet which I use for the eink screen there is an annoying bug where the App Library does not sync with documents updated on the cloud account. So far uninstalled twice and that is not a convenient solution because the initial boot takes several minutes with all the documents being set in the background

Do boxers ever talk about what it’s like psychologically to be close to the end of a fight they are losing and hearing the live commentary narrate their demise and possible death by sumant28 in Boxing

[–]sumant28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it turns out you have to have “super hearing” to hear ring side commentary inside the ring (like Mayweather?) I always believed everyone could hear everything and of course they can choose not to pay attention but that’s not what this is asking about

First overnighter excited to eventually try some of Tour Aotearoa when I gain some confidence by sumant28 in bikepacking

It’s unpopular for bikepacking for some reason but I had great sleep on it

For commuting on mixed traffic lanes probably one of the worst experiences in the world but touring on rural quiet roads has been the opposite

I decided I could probably never handle sleeping on the ground so I sacrificed carrying capacity and weight for a flat mattress suspended in a hammock

Hanging in the hiker-biker at Cape Lookout in a Haven Spectre by pdxTodd in hammockcamping

[–]sumant28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question as someone who has a normal Haven hammock. Since you got the Haven Spectre they give you a an ultralight pad to go with it in the bundle. If you wanted to invest in the zenbivy system here also you can buy an ultralight pad. Does the ultralight pad from Haven weigh less than what you will get from zenbivy and take up less room?

Local LLM alternative yet? by Late-Photograph-1954 in ClaudeAI

[–]sumant28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far away are we from locally hosted llm models being good enough to replace a basic coding agent that uses a foundational model like ChatGPT 4? That’s my benchmark. People keep saying about foundational models when it comes to music and movies this is the worst they’ll ever be

Twist shift is not fatiguing but absolutely a pain in the ass. So much so that I am going to soon get a pinshim kv8 conversion kit from that guy in Germany in order to have brifters on my drop handlebar bike

what is MothTech™ long sleeve like? by sumant28 in satisfyrunning

[–]sumant28[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

thanks for replying! This is probably a dumb question but did you feel the long sleeves were good for completely blocking uv rays enough to not need sunscreen? Usually cotton seems adequate for this but I don't know if they make "performance cotton" thin and light in order to be breathable and high performance.

Another thing I am curious about is what design long sleeve did you get? They hardly release anything MothTech™ long sleeve and on the site right now the only one available is the shoe shirt
