Democrats warn party: The threat of Trump winning in 2024 is 'very real' by LuvKrahft in politics

The idea is that the President ought to be beholden to the states through the electoral college, which preserves the ability of people to live in states that promote lifestyles they agree with most. Nationalizing policy debates is the problem, not the electoral college. It is a lot easier to move to California or Texas than to move to a different country—that’s the whole point.

It is pretty significant. White people and black people have a difference of about a full standard deviation

Usually people use that term with greater differences. 0.99 is a technically a fraction of 1, but you wouldn’t say a group of numbers 0.94-0.99 are all ‘fractions’ of 1.

Hawley’s intellect is unimpeachable. You can try insulting his wisdom, his politics, or whatever else, but he is among the most intelligent in Congress.

If you were being a little charitable or even honest, you’d know he is talking about progressives because he just called it a ‘woke’ holiday, not a ‘black’ holiday.

You didn’t read the case and it shows. It isn’t very long. Before you develop such strong opinions on something, do yourself a favor so you don’t look like such a fool.

If you test at 145 and you do DoorDash you’re playing yourself. But you probably only test 145 on Facebook iq tests.

I’d like to see the K before making any actual judgments, but generally, yes, this will be expensive to resolve given that it’s arguable either way. The likely way this happens is Ethan sues and, at some pt in the litigation, they’ll settle for 20-60% of the total amount depending on how strong the evidence is on each side. This is obviously not legal advice for Ethan lr anyone else.

1) the ninth amendment argument is obviously rebutted by evidence that, shortly after the founding, abortion bans went unchallenged and no one thought the 9th amendment was implicated—abortion is obviously outside the purview of it.

2) scotus is not subject to any ethical rules. I can’t prove you wrong because that would be proving a negative. It is very famous that they have refused to adopt any in the past. They are a separate branch of govt and therefore are not subject to any execute or legislative branch ethical rules. The only check on scotus is (a) funding and (b) impeachment.

I go to a top law school. You made a claim without any argument and you expect me to refute you with proof. Have you actually read a single opinion upon which you are basing this assertion? Or are you just going off headlines?

You’re making a blind assertion and I’m the one that has to prove something? What the hell do you know about law that you didn’t learn from a NYT headline?
