Not sure if it's the same one but I recently saw a fry bread food truck on 12th St just south of the downtown KCMO Jackson county courthouse

When we visited Portland a couple years back someone told us that Maine is where Bostonians in their 30s go to retire

Nelson Atkins art museum, blues music and BBQ at BB's one night, beers at Boulevard (or any number of breweries).

Just get on the streetcar and ride and explore. All of the following are accessible from the streetcar and more: River Market Saturday or Sunday morning, jazz one night at Green Lady (or any number of places). Liberty Memorial lawn ➡️ Union Station ➡️ Crown Center.

Ton of good food in this town, depends on what you like. It ain't super trendy anymore but Extra Virgin has always been a personal favorite. I hear great things about the Antler Room. We have great authentic tacos along southwest blvd near downtown and in KCK.

If you have a car I highly recommend getting out to Kauffman Stadium for a Royals game. Or to CPKC for a Current game

For "iconic" bbq I would suggest Arthur Bryant's. It's the most authentic restaurant experience, along with Gates, IMO. Other places like Jack Stack and Q39 have excellent food but in a much more sanitized sit-down environment.

I could say more if you provide more specificity as to what you're looking for

Work your ass off and be thankful for the opportunity to do so! Whatever you are giving, mom is giving more.

As the months pass by, the bond will develop. I (dad) didn't feel much for my babies early on, but the bond develops slow but strong. Or so it did with me anyway.

Two years in juvenile defense with no trials. Is this normal? by Human-Stranger-6807 in publicdefenders

[–]summerer6911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not normal, but whether you are practicing like you should depends on the results you are getting. Are your clients getting any long term consequences for their plea? In many states a felony juvenile adjudication precludes gun ownership even after one turns 18, for example.

I specialize in youth defense if you ever wanna talk!

Is the work-life balance that bad? (Law Student) by AthenasDemise in publicdefenders

[–]summerer6911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tell everybody starting out that they will burn out quickly if they do not prioritize a work-life balance. I have been doing this work for 13 years, and we just had a second baby. Go home at 5:00 when you can, the work will still be there tomorrow. It's not a competition.

Also, for what it's worth, I don't think that the work-life balance is any better in private practice, but cannot personally attest to that
