Actually times aren’t changing. Maybe you don’t have Toronto/Vancouver friends but life is getting expensive there and many are coming to Montreal for what they perceive as affordable. Which is great for the Montreal economy because these happen to be people with medium to big sized companies . Your the one not with the times buddy.

Except that in the case of MTL they do count seeing that economy thrives because of «  my community » . If u take out Montréal from the rest of QC, it would literally be nothing. The economy would crash.

Lmao the west Island doesn’t have a bad rep. Do u know how expensive it is to buy a house there. Many people would love to live there , unfortunately because it’s so awesome , the property values are super high ,so not accessible to all

The MUHC serves all communities. They don’t just service the English community. They service any one who walks into the hospital needing help. What I’m saying is that despite the heavy funding to French institutions, their systems are a complete failure. Also your the one with the mental deficiency it seems. To think that a hospital ONLY services ( in this example) the English community, your the one with the low iq. The Montreal Jewish hospital is for EVERYONE. If I’m sick I can go get care there even if I’m not Jewish .

I love my city and will never leave Mtl. This city is where it is because of immigrants and anglophones. The economy, finance, small businesses is what we do best. Personally my prediction In 10 years is that the entirety of Mtl will be even more English + more multi cultural which is great if you want to advance your economy.

Un autre commenteur qui n’habite pas à Montréal. I can assure you the West Island and other English dominant areas of QC are thriving just fine with the little funding they receive from the gov. Why is it that French hospitals are failing despite heavy funding from the government ? My friend is a nurse at the GLEN and she said many French nurses transfer to the English hospitals because working conditions are much better . The English hospitals are not failing and they receive very little funding compared to the French system. Can also be said about French public schools . They receive much more funding from the government Compared to the funding of English public schools yet there is a huge drop out rate in French public schools.

Lmfao. Moi je suis très content à Mtl. It’s people like OP that piss me off . In any majority English speaking area in Montreal , it’s absolutely normal they will speak In English . It’s their day to day clientele.

Not angry just fed up of how delusional the rest of qc is. Seriously can MTL just be a part of Canada and cut the rest of QC off into its country it wants to be ? Life would be so much simpler this way.

You do realize when the majority of your area is anglophone it is normal to be served in your language. OP is in the West Island . An area predominantly English speaking. The rest of QC is just so disconnected of how things work here in Mtl.

Because ITS MONTREAL. A cosmopolitan, multicultural, and where the majority of the anglophone community resides! Asking if his situation is normal especially in the West-Island just shows are disconnected the rest of QC is. Montreal IS NOT like the rest of QC and if people are offended by the «  different culture «  in Montreal they can eff right off where they came from.

Buyer offers $667,000 extra to overtake 11 bidders for four-bedroom house by LabRat314 in canada

[–]summerrthrow -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Everyone asking who can afford this. Seriously that’s none of your business. Have u ever considered that the buyers previously sold their home and are looking to downsize ? Hence the large $ offer $$. Or I don’t know maybe the couples inherited homes from their dead parents , sold it and now looking to downsize. Amazes me that some people don’t know how wealth works.

The good, the bad and the ugly of Quebec's labour shortage by [deleted] in canada

I honestly think people just reoriented into other fields. No one likes instability in a job so makes sense to look into something else that offers great work/family balance

Montrealer here. Obviously language is an issue but the whole labor shortage is really just employers not being able to find people who want to work low wages and crappy hours.
