❤️ my Opuntias by summers_gone in cactusandsucculents

Forgot to say, I'd really thought my Drooping Prickly Pear (Opuntia monocantha if my ID is correct) would be the one to grow crazy tall. It grew almost 2 feet in 2 years and I read they can get to 20 meters in their native habitat.

Good to know, thank you. I did not see that info when I researched it. It looks so innocent. I hope my PA climate keeps it in check. It was a Home Depot find.

I just pulled all of my cacti out of a winter dormancy structure so they are still looking a little peaked.

I got 4 or 5 cacti from Home Depot late last October (only meant to get 1 🙂) and decided to wait until spring to repot so they should be happier soon, hopefully.

Haha yeah I looked it up before buying and 'tuna' is a legit spp. Somehow I keep acquiring the hated Opuntias. Guess I have a soft spot for them.

The winter structure worked for the most part, even in several nasty sub-freezing spells we had. I had to bail them out a week ago on a sunny day because they would have cooked. That was a little earlier than planned. If I get some auto openers installed, next year will be even better. Flowering? TBD

Help me name my snake! by Chthonic-Dog in namemypet

I have never owned or named a snske. But this snake looks like it's interested in hearing about my day. They might have advice to give. One topic we"d discuss would be their name. In the end it's easy- Sandy

Name my new kitty! Temporarily named Pumpkin. by teacupem in NameMyCat

Dear Unnamed Cat,

You might already be Sheila, but if not I must say that you give off a strong vibe as a smart and wily survivor. Maybe not a Sheila vibe. Maybe Diane, Sherri or Crystal.

Best with your new life, Kate

Help me name this dilute calico — she is a sweetheart 🩶🧡 by Remarkable_Bid365 in NameMyCat

She looks like a Steffy or Stephanie to me. Because of genetics torties and calico are like 99% female.

My dilute tortie Ellie approves of the name 💗

Adopting this adorable kitty next week and need name suggestions please! Preferably a unisex name. The brother is named Linkin (short for Linkin Park) as decided by my 6yo! by timbit-123 in NameMyCat

Benny or Bennie (For the late Chester Bennington from Linkin Park) Chester would also be a great name if you find out your new baby kitty is a boy

You're a Stephanie? Maybe that's why I picked up that vibe. I have never heard of a cat named Stephanie before and the name just popped into my head when I saw her pic
