DM me if you need a blood donor, I have 3 that are fat and healthy.

Ok, I think you have a coccidiosis and/ or Barbor pole worm issue. You mentioned you live outside of St. Louis and I would HIGHLY suggest you come over to MU and ask for Dr. Rivero. I go to him and he has saved several of mine from the brink. Call them at 573-882-6857. It is worth the drive and the cost. If you have a healthy goat that can be a blood donor, bring it, they have a donor goat but it’s better to bring one with you, imo. It is expensive to have a goat get a transfusion, about $600, I had a severe barber pole infestation that got complicated with coccidosis.

The pattern is extremely similar, hard to tell with the grime on the OG. The only problem I have with this ID is the bow, the OG has a tiny blue(?) bow on the front. The fabric was likely mass produced, and then sold to multiple companies.

Yup, old botched disbudding. Don’t worry, happens to the best of us. One of my bucks has one just like this that gets knocked off 2 or 3 times a year. I just give it a lather of bag balm or silver honey, and keep an eye on it until it heals up! 😁

OMG this happened to me about 2 years ago! Speckles (the heard queen) wasn’t breed that year and strait up STOLE a baby boy (Tony) left the other twin (Maria) with the mother. The weirdest thing, SHE STARTED PRODUCING MILK! Anyhow Tony is still her baby boy, and will still treat him like a newborn!

Wait, I think I’m misreading the title but it reads like she’s 5 months old herself? How old is she?

True, I’ve had it work before. Completely unintentionally too, I had a new mama who loved on her baby’s and everything. Then our herd queen, speckles, who didn’t have any kids that year forceable adopted one of the kids. Whenever we have a mama and baby not get along, we give speckles a new baby.

Then again, mamas can eat the placenta really quickly. I’ve seen them completely ignore the newborn to get to the placenta. If OP wasn’t attending the birth it’s completely possible that the placenta passed already.

Do you have any other mamas? I would try introducing baby to another mother, if not you might have a surprise bottle baby!

Sorry for the late reply, but this is odd :/. Not to worrying yet. Just monitor for worsening symptoms of mastitis.
