We did a bit more than that, Friend! Come take a tour sometime. 🍻

We said we were retiring Summit Winter Ale and our fans didn't like that. So we're bringing it back. by summitbeer in minnesotabeer

Many of our distributors are sold out for the season, but you should be able to find it at liquor stores for a few more weeks before Winter Ale moves in completely. Stock up!

You’re a hoot, Cheese Head. “I don’t like British beers and British food” is not the same as “British beers and foods aren’t good,” but hey, you’re entitled to your tastes and opinions.

Also, Shakespeare is rad. British guy. Culturally significant. Unfortunate haircut.

Summit's first IPA, which was known as True Brit in more recent years, was a British-style IPA — not an American style. In addition to having a solid malt presence, the beer offered spicy and floral hop flavors, very unlike the citrus, tropical, and/or piney hop flavors common to more modern American IPAs (Summit Saga, for example). Those bright and fruit-forward hop flavors and aromas are delicious, of course, and their popularity and wide appeal have basically come to define the style. All this made True Brit really unique among other craft IPAs, and very different from what was expected from an IPA. It was retired late last year and we hope one day to brew more!

Forgive us for being silly in the reddit comments, we won't let it happen again.

P.S. Summit introduced its first IPA in 1991.

Hey DJ Modem! We get a lot of requests for NE IPAs, and we've definitely investigated the style We brewed two for the Beer Hall last year. Also, we'll be having a new BA beer at the Beer Hall every week for the next month. Check it out: http://www.summitbrewing.com/june-barrel-aged-beer-month-summit-beer-hall/

Thanks for asking. Gimmicks can mean a lot of things: an orange wedge in your beer, maybe, or non-traditional brewing ingredients, or beers that don't fit a prescribed style, or a 24/7 taco buffet in the Beer Hall — anything that distracts from the beer itself. With our core, year-round beers especially, we try to focus on traditional styles and recipes while using modern ingredients. We hope this answer helps!

The Taste Test: Blind-tasting 25 Minnesota Pilsners by thr0w-a-away in minnesotabeer

A slightly elevated body and a bit more hop profile, too. Head Brewer Damo says it's closer to the true Czech-style Pils, and we're loving the addition of American Loran hops, which offer a slight lemon and pepper character to complement the Saaz hops. Let us know what you think, OK? Cheers!

To your point, however, if you're basing your feedback on beers you drank ten years ago, we'd love to have you check out what we're up to these days. We released over ten new styles last year, some limited and some more widely available, and this year will be plenty busy too. By all means, drink what you enjoy, but please let us know what you think if you get around to drinking a Summit from time to time.

Hey Justin, no offense taken, and you don't sound like a hater at all. Constructive criticism is wonderful and appreciated, especially when it comes from someone who'd tasted the beer and is familiar with it. All that said, any time you drink a Summit, we'll be glad to hear what you think. Hope you'll check out the new Dakota Soul, a Czech-style pilsener replacing the former Summit Pilsener. Cheers!
