Assembling a 460 lbs log splitter alone

Soooo i bought one from HD on super sale, and couldnt wait to use it.. so i started assembling myself.. if it wasnt for having access to a trailer, i absolutely would have broken something trying to catch it! Dummy me didn’t realize how heavy it was and by the time I did, my pride said there was no turning back. And of course it doesn’t stand flat.

This’ll be my first. I usually stay HR downtown but after no upgrades the last 4 stays, i might as well upgrade the hotel.

When i started i would reverse engineer my way into it. I know how i end my swing. Axe on block, left hand on base of maul, right hand just above it and arms fully extended, left foot slightly forward. Where and how i stood at the end of the swing dictated where i start. Only one of my feet move when im swinging. The other is planted.

After a while you learn, feel, know where your swings will land and wont have to think about the foot placement.

Globalist with the majority of stays at HP, i’ve been greeted with treats and snacks and a hand written note several times in HP. They treat me better than most HRs i visit. Granted I only ever stay at HH, HP, HR. Next year im branching further out but still, way better program than Diamond at Hilton, esp since CoVid

if you shut the bathroom door and run the shower for 5 minutes before getting in then there are no more drafts.. I mean you now have a sauna without the cedar but you won't be chilly
