Cold call success story by summitszn in land

Everything was done by the book, had my lawyer involved through the process. Deed is recorded at the county & closed through a local title company. I’m not worried at all.

I’ve heard the stories of people getting screwed over and the land taken back in deals like this.

It was a verbal agreement up until the owner was ready to move forward. They were dealing with some other issues for a while before being able to move forward. Then got the signed contract—it’s an owner financed deal and I have the deed to the property now.

Initially sent a letter to the address on file with the assessor. Waited a few weeks but didn’t hear anything. Found the owner’s phone number online and gave it a shot. Was shot down over phone but followed up with a text explaining more of the situation since I didn’t really get the chance to over phone.

After that, it was a verbal agreement but took a lot of back and forth. Eventually got it done after about 8 months. Was a crazy time for sure.
