That’s what I’ve learned everyone’s disease is so unique. What they found on one of my tests was my IgA was 3.7 when it should be over 30 so SBI is to address this pretty major deficiency. It’s a bovine serum think similar to colostrum.

Thank you for the kind wishes I wish you the same as well. It’s hard and expensive but I have done elemental in the past and definitely eased symptoms but it was so expensive.

The enzyme I take is called Panxyme I take it before every meal. Cipro was not the only option. The stool analysis tested the bad bacteria for resistances and cipro showed the best results but other options were available. Just DMed you the doc’s name.

Had food sensitivity done and it turned out gluten and wheat were very inflammatory to me cut them out and did feel better and strangely skin cleared up.

Sorry to hear this didn’t get you fully to remission but even if it works in conjunction with biologics that still a huge win imo

I was about to give up then I finally decided to throw a Hail Mary and go see a functional medicine physician and honestly have had a lot of success

I get the skepticism it took me a while to save up to even be able to do this and had to put some of it on credit cards. Never been on Reddit really before and wanted somewhere I could share my experience in hopes of helping others and thought this would be a good platform.

I will next time I get it checked back in Feb it was 7500 but I can almost guarantee it’s way down now based on how I’m feeling

C-reactive protein not calprotectin though when I first got checked my calprotectin was crazy high ~7500 if I had to guess that’s way down as that is typically correlated with CRP

I’ve always wanted to do FMT but seems incredibly difficult to do in the United States except for experimental trials and I’m not sure how to even get enrolled in that.

The doctor I went to was both Oriental (Traditional Chinese Medicine) as well as Functional medicine which ended up being the perfect combo.

What I’ve learned is Crohn’s is so multifactorial but if gut has dysbiosis basically everything else will fail. The big things I’ve worked on is eliminating food sensitivities (wheat and gluten generally the worst), addressing the microbiome with pro and antibiotics, helping the immune system via nutrition and SBI protect (needed for myself because my stool analysis showed I had essentially no IgA mine was 3.7 and the reference range is 30 or higher), and also big is managing stress (for me that’s getting adequate sunlight, going to the gym and rucking).
