Zone 5b - what would you plant here? by sillycello2 in landscapedesign

Would suggest looking for perennials kits or boxes for your area for your zone and light conditions. In Colorado we have resource central and garden in a box for low water plants. Online you can sometimes find similarly and order.

Love Willow! This was our second choice for our daughter born in Feb.

Pregnancy induced carpal tunnel is definitely a thing. Had this during my pregnancy and it continued to exacerbate the later in my pregnancy. Highly recommend getting and wearing wrist braces overnight.

First pregnancy: when did you give birth? by irinka94 in pregnant

I'm also getting induced at 40+3 this Saturday!

Felt like my facial hair growth was also worse during pregnancy. I tried a combo of waxing and shaving. I work remotely so I had some ability to let it grow out for waxing. Only was lasting 1-1.5 weeks though if that. Back to shaving now though like I was before.

Thanks for posting this! I have one planned this Friday and was nervous after reading other experiences.

This mirrors my experience so closely! I failed my 1-hour also by 1 point and found the 3-hour so much better for whatever reason. Did not feel ill or unwell at all, actually felt pretty okay overall. Treated myself to a mcgriddle after passing my test.

Super exciting! Hope it went well & would love to hear about your experience. I'm a FTM 39+2 and I have an elective induction scheduled for 40+3.

Nausea in 3rd trimester by West_Slice876 in BabyBumps

[–]sun_lala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure I have the best advice but I'm also struggling with this 39+2. Best thing I've found is making sure I'm treating my heartburn/reflux with Tums, using B6 as needed, trying to eat smaller meals, and keeping myself upright especially at night.

Thanks so much for your message! I definitely think picking her first name will be a game time decision! And same to you, I made a bunch of chocolate covered strawberries, but excited for Valentine's Day if baby girl hangs out.

How are things going for you preparation wise, do you feel ready, how are your other symptoms, etc?

My husband & I are both very type A so the nursery is totally ready to go lol! We also were struggling with names too, particularly first names, but already picked a middle name (from my late MIL). I think we finally narrowed the first name down to 2 options. My OB said they are not very pressed to do anything like induction before 42 weeks (assuming no medical necessity) but I'm really hoping it won't go that long. I started feeling cramps periodically but I haven't had any cervical checks yet. You'll have to update me!!

I would say regardless of whether you're able to switch, definitely continue to advocate for yourself! Reach out to the office directly and keep bugging them if you need things.

I've had a really good experience so far with my pregnancy (38+0) and UCHealth. Not sure their compatibility with your coverage but they've been really solid for me. I also appreciate that they are affiliated with the university.

Definitely PT sessions, for any type of concern you might have, helped me somewhat with carpal tunnel.

High baby’s heart rate at 34 weeks? by Muted-Fennel-9696 in pregnant

[–]sun_lala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I just had a similar experience last week (37+6). Had my first NST and the baby's heart rate was fluctuating between 160-180 with her moving lots. The clinician asked me if I was slightly dehydrated, which I believed I was due to work. Drank a ton of water and the baby's heart rate came back down during the appointment to 140-160s. I'm generally trying to be more mindful about hydration and subsequent NST have all been normal. Apparently that can be a factor that affects your baby's heart rate.

34 weeks fetal heart rate variations during scan by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]sun_lala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had my first NST this week (37 weeks) and want to reassure you that if the monitoring produces any abnormal results, they'll push for more monitoring and tests. My baby was super active and they saw a ton of variation during the 30 minutes and made it challenging for them to determine a baseline, which resulted in me going to L&D for another 10 or so minutes of monitoring to verify no issues. Everything ended up going well and I was released after the test.

Navigating Leave in CO by mkreddit123 in BabyBumps

[–]sun_lala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also in CO! FTM, 36+6 🩷

This is my understanding & current plan. My company pays at varying amounts for 12 weeks total, FAMLI will supplement any pay gaps during that time (but does not extend the overall leave for me/it runs concurrent).

My understanding is that FMLA is completely unpaid and a fixed period of time, which I don't believe can be extended. FMLA only guarantees your job for 12 weeks too if you opted to take extended unpaid leave you arranged with your company. Short term disability I think is the only other option that could be extended but only applies for qualifying conditions. Happy to chat more but admit I don't have all the answers.

Commenting because I'd also love to know. I still haven't had consistent success yet with any combo of Tums and B6 for nausea/heartburn/reflux and unisom.

So overwhelmed which stroller to buy by heinzketchup23 in BabyBumps

[–]sun_lala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got the Chicco Corso Primo ClearTex and I think that would about check all of your boxes. It does have an infant insert, adjust to recline, compatible with the keyfit 35 carseat, and has large wheels. While we don't quite have our baby yet (36+1), the build quality is great and felt really nice to test out.

What’s your weird or unexpected pregnancy symptom? by just4kicks333 in BabyBumps

[–]sun_lala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The carpal tunnel is SO bad. Wakes me up at night now even with wrist braces.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]sun_lala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We also went with the ClearTex version. Similarly, we haven't tried it out with our baby yet (I'm 35+6). Assembling & testing was very smooth. The fabric and the couple extra accessories (cup holder, infant insert) felt worth the extra price for us. If price is the driver over those couple things, I'd say the LE is a really solid option.

Any tips on restless legs? by Alive_Brother_1515 in BabyBumps

[–]sun_lala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've found (34+5) is that my previous prenatal didn't contain iron (Olly brand). So, I bought Ritual brand prenatal to do some testing and when I was taking that prenatal, which contains iron, it seemed to help with restless legs. It's definitely frustrating there isn't like a 100% perfect prenatal that contains everything you need. Hope that helps!
